The Dallas offense, held scoreless in the first half, scored twice in the third period to take the lead away from the Panthers and were driving again inside Carolina territory as the quarter ended.
Dallas drove to the Carolina 1 early in the period before settling for a field goal. Later, the Cowboys drove 58 yards for a toucnhdown that came on Tashard Choice's 5-yard run.
Dallas dominated time of possession in the period, controlling the ball 9 minutes, 35 seconds compared to 5:25 for the Panthers.

Everybody thought the Panthers bye wk is too early. But thank goodness it's next week. If we didn't have weaknesses anyway, now we really need two weeks to heal. We miss Hoover and Diggs. Obviously Peppers is sick. Or at least he will be at the end of the season when no one wants to offer him crap for money.

I have officially joined the Movement to replace the entire coaching staff of the Panthers. The team has no/nto enough haert to compete. We will continue to be a mediocre franchise (that overachieves every so often) as long as we have this coaching staff. Carolina needs a brand new corporate philosophy. WE are not a da*n exspansion team anymore!!!!! so quit playing scared!!!!!!!!!!

The defense is a joke, the offense is pathetic. The Panthers hurt my heart when they play like this. Peppers is a heartless SOB and Fox has become a drone. Beason and Smith look like the only players on the team who give a rat's a$$ about the game. I still have faith in the team but boy do they make me sick sometimes.

Time to clean house!
Get a coach in here who will get tough players and play with intensity and toughness.

Panthers won't win a game until Jake Delhomme gets benched!
Why does Fox continue to start him at QB despite the turnovers and his killing the Panthers?

sorry bill i mean COWHER.got too excited.

How can we ever hope to win with the absolute worst quarterback in the league! It is pathetic, get rid of him!! I am tired of watching him do nothing year after year, week after week!!

Imagine that he fumbles!!!

Richardson is going to make a change. We really do need any fox supporters cause its going to happen. We need to rebuild because everything from management to coaching destroyed us

Fire John Fox. I have stood up for him for too long.
By the way, all the morons blaming Jake Delhomme? You guys don't know anything about football. He never made a single bad play. Not one. His two INT's were Steve Smith's fault, and Moose's fault. Not that you deranged maniacs care.
But as for Fox, this was disastrous. You guys claim he doesn't make second half adjustments? Yeah he did today. He adjusted everything that was working AND DECIDED TO STOP DOING IT. What the hell happened to the screens? THey were killing Dallas. What the hell happened to blitzing them?
Fox has got to go. Fire Fox. Fire Fox. SHANAHAN NOW!

Good lord we suck. Hope the team enjoys thinking about 0-3 for 2 whole weeks. Don't see any way we can salvage this season...what a trainwreck. Wholesale changes are coming, but not soon enough.

I don't get it...Panthers VS seahawks - NFC title game...SS was triple covered, bumped, shoved...no one stepped up...cats lost with no running game...
the past 3 games: same deal...but we have DWILL and JSTEW...yet we keep doing the same crap!!!!! it's pathetic now. A lot of people are calling the D, but with no DTs on the team, they still managed to OWN the first half...so it's stupid to think a D can still hold up for 3 and 1/2 quarters!!!!
get rid of Delhomme, Muhammad, Jarrett, make PEPPERS play at TE...make sure SS is quadruple covered and maybe, just maybe, someone will actually step up!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry, better yet, i'm not: it's ridiculous to watch a team do the same ol useless things for 6 years and expect anything to change...funny how Miami does the wildcat with Dan HEnning and Carolina still plays the same conservative offense and defense...over 200 yards rushing without Marion Barber????????? COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

fire Fox, promote Davidson to interim HC, fire Meeks and make Sam Mills III interim DC.

Gamble you are an idiot! He is not a leader and chokes everytime they need something done. Lead, follow, or get the h*ll out the way. He has to go!!
Posted by: vernon | Sep 28, 2009 11:43:28 PM
OH AND I FORGOT:
COWHER, SHANAHAN, GRUDEN...
ONE OF THE FIRST TWO WILL WORK...JUST PUT FOX BACK AS D COORDINATOR, PUT JEFF DAVIDSON AS OL COACH(WHERE HE BELONGS), AND FIND A FRESH 35YEAR OLD O COORDINATOR WHO WILL ACTUALLY CALL PLAYS THAT THE OPPOSING DEFENSE WON'T KNOW BY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, anyone want 4 tickets to the Panthers-Falcons game in November? Probably couldn't even give those away right now...not worth the money for gas and parking to go see an uninspired, losing football team.

This team rips my heart out when they play this way. I'm as diehard a fan as anyone, but this level of play is an insult to fans. The coaches look lost; Jake is a psychologically broken man; Smitty is just a loose cannon; Pep quit.... Man, I could go on but I'd rather not. At this point I don't care. Fire Fox and hire somebody in the off week. Bench Jake. Or not... I don't care. This season is a lost cause.

SS cost us the game with that break off his route.
Posted by: Hunter | Sep 28, 2009 11:50:54 PM
WITH THE OL WE HAVE, THE BACKS WE HAVE, WHY ARE WE NOT JUST RUNNING ALL THE TIME???? YOU STACK TWO TEs(KING AND HOOV OR FIAMETA) DLOW OR JSTEW AT HB, BARNIDGE AND MUHAMMAD AS RECEIVERS AND JUST RUN THE DAMN BALL UNTIL IT WORKS!!!! AT LEAST THAT WILL BE BETTER THAN THROWING AT EVERY TRIPLE COVERED RECEIVER WE HAVE!!!!! BENCH SS FOR AT LEAST 2 GAMES TO MAKE HIM ACTUALLY STOP COMPLAINING AND WANT TO GET OPEN!!!!
AT THE PRESENT MOMENT, I THINK THE PANTHERS ARE THE MOST PATHETIC TEAM IN NFL...EVEN THE LIONS CAN WIN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!!
AND THIS IS COMING FROM A GUY WHO ONLY WATCHES PANTHERS FOOTBALL...ONLY PLAYS MADDEN WITH THE PANTHERS...LOL...THANK GOD I'M STARTING TO SEE THE REALITY: THE COACHES AND THE PLAYERS DONT CARE, THEY ALREADY HAVE THEIR MILLIONS...SO SAD TO WATCH
Posted by: fan from Haiti | Sep 28, 2009 11:51:46 PM
Ha! Jake Delhomme has more comebacks and fourth quarter drives than probably over 25 other starting QB's in this league. he IS a leader.
He's not a pro-bowler or anything, but he is NOT the reason we lost. He made the right reads, made the throws. Its the coaches and the receivers who failed him today.
Fire Fox. Bring in Shanahan.

Well that's more than I can say..... I have officially lost faith in this current team and coaching staff. The Panthers will NEVER be a consistent winner with the current philosophy, mostly due to the coaching and GM making desperate moves for a quick fix. The Panthers have a handful of very talented players and Jake is a good, average QB, BUT the offense is so predictable, and the defense is playing scared. The Panthers love to "pound the rock" but when that doesn't work the team's only answer is to throw the ball up to Smith,(it has become come knowledge and too predictable).
2008 was a good year at 12-4 because most of the competition was subpar, as were the Panthers at times. The Panthers' offensive philosophy is to try not to lose, but when times get desperate- play wild and loose- which more times than not leads to turnovers, especially when you only throw to one reciever. Which leads me to another question---How long before Steve Smith gets tired of being the one threat and losing, before he finally says to himself "I want a ring, and it looks like its not happening here."
Football in Carolina is not fun anymore. In the beginning it was all fun- being an exspansion team and just enjoying being the new upstart. Those days are gone and the fans must demand a CONSISTENT winner. The Panthers, like a handful of mediocre teams in the league, have become a triple A football team.
