Pregame #Panthers-#Redskins observations
-- With rookie Mike Goodson out with a concussion, watch for Kenneth Moore to handle kickoff-return duties today. Moore, who's caught three passes this season for 25 yards, also seems to have slipped past Dwayne Jarrett as the team's No. 3 receiver. He's the team's first-ever Charlotte player (Butler High).
-- Pay attention to the interior defensive lines today. Although the Panthers want to get their running game going, they'll have to get past Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth -- one of the league's top run stuffers -- to do so. It'll also be the first game for Carolina tackle Hollis Thomas, who was brought in last week to bolster the league's worst run defense.
-- If strong safety Chris Harris plays for the first time this season -- and it sounds like he will -- the Panthers' secondary should play with much more cohesiveness than it's shown in its first three games. Harris holds things together back there.
-- Expect the Panthers -- and fans -- to get a pretty powerful emotional jolt when DeAngelo Williams' pregame salute to his mom is shown on the stadium's video screens. Williams and other players are wearing pink cleats today in a show of support for the fight against breast cancer. Williams' mother is a survivor of the disease.
-- We'll let you know about the inactive players list between 11:30 and 11:45 this morning. -- David Scott
