That stinks. The defense needs him

6-10 even without him.Too bad we gave up our #1 pick for next year.I see a free agent qb in our future!!

IMO: Just wasn't our year! With all these bad beats, there was no chance for the Panthers this year!

SIGN DERRICK BROOKS Immediately!! Have our people call his people STAT!!

Posted by: Justin | Nov 9, 2009 2:47:32 PM

I hate to see that. He has been playing lights out football all year. I vote to make him a captain next year. I hope his recovery is swift. We will miss him DEARLY!!!!!!!!!!He was on his way to the pro bowl, crap that bites.

we need a new coach the most!

They guy that most deserving to be recognized for Pro Bowl!Darn!he was having a terrific season.Just isn't meant to be this year for the Panthers! Maybe the lords to be doesn't want Fox/Hurney around next year either!

Two words DERRICK BROOKS

Posted by: Justin | Nov 9, 2009 2:51:25 PM

This is seriously unfortunate. He just looked like he sort of got his foot caught in the turf. I really hope he can come back from this and still be the same explosive player.

Posted by: Ed | Nov 9, 2009 2:51:33 PM

brooks would not be a bad idea but i wonder how much cap room we have right now.

Posted by: clt | Nov 9, 2009 2:52:55 PM

Can't Fox and Hurney have season-ending injuries so we're not forced to watch their conservative, play not to lose and not play to win, mentality!

Sorry to hear about TD! He really was one of the few bright spots for the year!

Posted by: stickyd8 | Nov 9, 2009 2:57:25 PM

why waste money trying to salvage a season with brooks instead of giving a young'n like conner or whoever the snaps? 4-4 we've got a shot, but at 3-5.....its dunzo for the year.

Posted by: charlottean | Nov 9, 2009 2:57:30 PM

That terrible it was his best season and he was a lock for the Pro Bowl.Give the linebacker from Penn State a chance. why was he not playing anyway?

Posted by: kenneth | Nov 9, 2009 2:59:12 PM

I wouldn't sign Brooks. I don't see the playoffs happening this year regardless. I would invest the playing time in Dan Connor to see if he can develop into a contributor. We need to start a real rebuilding process...

My Panther's #1 pick just got a little sweeter. Go kitty cats.

Forever grateful,
Coach Singletary

let connor play more, we don't need brooks, but we need a new coach, i can't wait for this offseason to begin.we are still in the playoff hunt people, all we need to do is win out..that's right 8 in a row. let's go panthers. 11-5 sounds good to me

Posted by: tim | Nov 9, 2009 3:04:25 PM

I hate to see this with Davis, because he deservingly so has been a pro bowler this year

Posted by: Jennifer | Nov 9, 2009 3:05:26 PM

It's too bad when you lose a player that was having such a great season. Maybe we can transfer TD's heart to Chris Gamble for the remainder of the season. If I was Ron Meeks Chris Gamble would sit the rest of the year for that Chicken S@#T half hearted attempt of a tackle yesterday. Panthers need two corners. The one's we have now are like the Tin Man (Gamble) no heart, and the Scare Crow (Marshall) no brains.

Still gonna cast my vote for him in the Pro Bowl though!!

Fox career record is 65-56??? 55% wins?

roll the dice and get someone here who at least is interesting to watch

Posted by: Tim | Nov 9, 2009 3:10:50 PM

Don Connor; you're up next!

Posted by: Newsinz | Nov 9, 2009 3:13:01 PM

So much for our most likely chance to get in the Pro Bowl. Or course, Deangelo should get in if he keeps up his pace

Posted by: Bill | Nov 9, 2009 3:13:25 PM

crap!

Posted by: Michael | Nov 9, 2009 3:20:40 PM

Man TD went down! He played well and should bounce back! See next year! You will be missed!
