Delhomme languishing among benched QBs, rookies

As the debate swirls this week about whether the Panthers should bench quarterback Jake Delhomme, the NFL released its weekly stats today (through Sunday's games):

After Delhomme's four interception, 12.7-rating performance against the Jets, he is the NFL's lowest-ranked starting quarterback.

His 59.4 rating -- ranked 31st in the league -- is better than only Oakland's JaMarcus Russell (47.7) and Cleveland's Derek Anderson (36.2), both of whom have been benched. Even Tennessee's Kerry Collins, whose 62.0 rating places him one spot ahead of Delhomme, has already been benched.

Immediately ahead of Collins and Delhomme are two rookies -- the Jets' Mark Sanchez (62.1) and Detroit's Matthew Stafford (62.4).

Delhomme's 18 interceptions tie him with Stafford for second most in the league behind Chicago's Jay Cutler's 20. Cutler has 16 touchdowns passes, however, and Stafford 12. Delhomme has eight TD passes. -- David Scott

Fox is too hard headed for reasoning anymore. It's almost like he is trying to get fired.... Hopefully both will go and they can pack each others bags and whisper "it is what it is" to each other. Jerry please get rid of these two....if you can fire your own flesh and blood, you can send these two packing for sure.

Somebody knows something about Tank Tyler injury?

I think Peppers leave Carolina next year for this reason maybe its recomendable see more of Hilee Taylor.

On the Off. Side.
Give a chance to Ken and Matt Moore also use Barnidge more!!!!!! he have a really good hands.
Involve Sutton and Goodson more on our schemes in wild cat formations with DeAneglo and Stewart!!
We have a lot of weapons!! but please Davidson, BE CREATIVE!!!

Our season its over, we need to use the following games to give experience to our young players and to make new plays.
I mean, use the following games as a pre-season for the next season.

The Panthers were so bad I switched channels to watch the Celtic Woman concert

I watched 1 qtr of that load of crap yesterday. I will never understand why jake was still in there. Now that Jake may not play this Sunday I may just plan on watching the entire game. One thing is certain, it will be a much more entertaining game with Moore in there.

For a long time, I have been avoiding and in a state of denial about how bad Jake is, but he is pretty bad. His throws are completely inexplicable. Why would you throw some of those balls and why would you lose complete knowledge of how to throw.

Posted by: ANDY | Nov 30, 2009 2:12:49 PM

i agree, jake wasn't the best, but after surgery he is terrible, see ya jake, but the main thing will the peole in the long run appreaciate jake efforts when he retires, he did lead us to the super bowl and had some good games..

Fox should have been fired 3 years ago. Keep Jake as a nbr 3 QB. After watching us go for it on 4th down, make it, and then run the ball 3 times and kick a field goal... Who is calling these plays???? Package Peppers and a couple of LB's for a first rounder. Someone would take it believe me.
