Falcons' Turner on the upswing

The Panthers' DeAngelo Williams isn't the only NFC South running back who is hitting mid-season form.

Atlanta's Michael Turner, who will test Carolina's defense Sunday, has run for 317 yards (151 against New Orleans, 166 against Washington) in his past two games. Those performances came after lower-than-normal outputs (for Turner) against Chicago (30 yards) and Dallas (50).

The bruising Turner (he's 5-10, 244) is seventh in the league in rushing with 720 yards (Williams is fifth at 768).

Turner ran for 105 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons' 28-20 victory against the Panthers in Week 2. Panthers coach John Fox was asked if he expected more of the same from Turner.

"I thought he had his feet underneath him when we played them before," Fox said. -- David Scott

Turner will get his but not like he thinks. This Panthers defense is much different that the one from week 2! I also look for Jake to take some shots downfield! If we connect on some bombs that will help the passing game tremendously! Go Panthers!

the main difference is no TDavis. That is a HUGE loss. I hope we can shut him down.

Thomas, Tyler and the others are going to rip this guy a new one. They should put Andrson or Mr. Penn State in at weakside on running downs though.

Don't take this the wrong way, but Thomas Davis isn't as big a hit as you think. Yes, he's having his best ever year and makes our defense really shine, but Anderson holds his own.
