LB Johnson joins Davis on IR; Panthers sign former Colt Senn
Just two games after taking over for injured Thomas Davis as a starting outside linebacker, Landon Johnson has joined Davis on the injured reserve list and is out for the season.
Johnson suffered a knee injury in last Thursday's loss to Miami and was placed on I.R. today.
The Panthers signed Jordan Senn, a linebacker and special teamer, to replace Johnson on the roster.
Senn appeared in 15 games for the Indianapolis Colts after joining the team as an undrafted rookie free agent from Portland State. He was released and re-signed by the Colts this season, appearing in two games before getting cut again.
Johnson's spot in the starting lineup is expected to be filled by James Anderson or Dan Connor.

Wow , time to shine Mr. Connor. Thank god we are deep at LBs.

I watched Dan Connor during the preseason and he looked very impressive. I would like to see him get some playing time this season.

Adam Seward was just released by the Jags...he would be a good pick up as well

Dan ought to get that shot @ the weakside !

Adam Seward would have been a good choice, but I'm sure the former Colt was picked up as he would have been previously up on this defensive scheme having previously worked with Ron Meeks. Hopefully, he can step in right away and help.

Just as well; sign a new Head Coach & starting QB while they are at it...ya think??

How do you like my tactics in adding a lot of players to injured reserve? If I can add one or two more, I will be able to use the ol' "We had so many injuries, that we could not compete", excuse now.
I have the Big Cat fooled!

Remember Jeremy Lehman? Why the Panthers realeased him I have no idea. Him and Goodson were the only bright spots in the pre-season. He was a tackling machine. Would have been great to have him there the moment TD went down, instead we kept "Captain" on the roster. I get happy if Captain just catches the punt, let alone return it.

Sure, J. "Not Playing for anyone" Leman was was a bright spot, so was "Fumbles" Goodson (who lost his job to undrafted Sutton), but you can't argue with "Captain" being decent as a nickel corner... especially for a 7th rounder. As bad our special teams are, it doesn't matter who you put back there to return punts. Our special teams haven't been the same since O'Brien left...

one of the B I G G E S T problems we have is our offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson! He hasnt got a clue,, it is HIM calling all the bone head plays he doesn't have a clue as how to play to his strength...a loose cannon indeed...we actually did better when we ran the hurry uo offense with Jake calling the plays....feature that!!
also the offensive and defensive lines need to man up and play at the pro level instead of the high school level the game Thursday nite was lost at the line of scrimmage they bullied both lines

How 'bout they put a few wins together and make this a respectable season?

heres a thought. Why not put the beast on the weaside, and let Connor play MLB. makes too much sense
Posted by: James | Nov 24, 2009 10:21:03 PM
not really James. Beason is our MLB and leader of the D.

Wow Adam Seward was just released by the Jags? I was at the Jags/Buffalo game and saw him on special teams Sunday. That was quick.

What teams do you all coach for again?

Conner or Anderson are both good options. Conner and Anderson both played a LOT with the 1st string players during preseason!

Great stuff. Ashe, I couldn't agree with you more. I can't remember the last time these boards were this pleasent! Oh wait. I haven't posted yet myself. :0)

James Anderson is the best LB on the roster. He is the only one that can play all three LB positions. Unleash him and watch him work. He was 7th in the NFL in tackles in the preseason when they let him play a sufficient amount. Sit back and watch God dod what he does with his child. Lets go James!!!!

It is great that we are deep at linebacker. Jeremy Lehman would have been a pretty good pick up, but connor and anderson should be pretty decent. At this point, I almost just want to get through the season. Injuries are killing us almost as much as poor play.

its just a matter of time before fox puts godfrey on i.r to cover the fact that martin should have been playing there all along and it gives fox an out.when everybody is on i.r at seasons end then fox and the koolade drinkers can blame the seasons disaster on injuries.ive seen this pattern before.

Every other year with a hard schedule. Same Movie... same ending...different Actors(Players)! Getting old!

This team really has been Dan Morgan-ed this year. Should have known the injury bog was coming from the first day in training camp with a huge loss of Kemo. They just keep rolling in.
And for all you fools who say Fox is somehow making this happen so he has an excuse, are you serious? You have to be joking, because nobody is really that stupid. They can't be. This isn't "wrastlin", where everything is scripted.
Any competent football fan can look at the key injuries we've had this year and actually say the staff has done an admirable job filling spots or moving folks around. But, the reality is - the drop off in talent from your first string to your second string is significant. Hugely so. So to think you can bring Lehman in and he'll play up to the level that TD did...despite not being anywhere near the level of talent based on college career or draft status or the fact you saw Lehman play scrubs in preseason...is just dillusional. If Lehman was soooo great as you all would like to think, trust me, he'd be on this team. Or starting somewhere else. Did it ever occur to you there is a reason he is not?

They were going to switch Beason to 'will' and put Connor at 'mike', but JB wasn't confortable ..... so it didn't happen
