Martin gets the start ahead of Godfrey
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Rookie Sherrod Martin will start today at free safety ahead of Charles Godfrey, who's back after missing four games with a sprained ankle.
Martin has three interceptions in those four games, while Godfrey doesn't have one this season.
Coach John Fox hinted earlier this week that he might play a combination of Godfrey, Martin and strong safety Chris Harris at times today.
Also, James Anderson will start for Landon Johnson at weakside linebacker. Johnson's out for the season with a knee injury.
-- Jets inactives: QB Kevin O'Connell, CB Dwight Lowery, CB Donald Strickland, LB Ryan Fowler, LB Kenwin Cummings and OL Matt Slauson. Erik Ainge is the third (emergency) QB.
Cummings is a former Wingate player who is from Maxton.
-- The Panthers are wearing their white jerseys today. That's the only color they have a winning record in during their 15-year history.
Carolina is 69-68 wearing white in regular-season games, but is 37-45 in black and 7-8 in blue. -- David Scott

I think John Fox has been replaced by a V. The real John Fox does not dump established starters mid-season. Go Martin! You must be even better than I think!

I have to thank Jon Fox for picking the guy with the hot hand. A few more decisions like this and he might keep his job.

Every aspect sucks. And don't start that injury crap again. They had no injuries when they lost at HOME to BUFFALO!

here is a very telling stat..... as of this moment,in games that count, (that is excluding preseason BUT including regular and post-season games) the Panthers all-time record is 119 wins and 119 losses! That says it all, doesn't it?!?!?
