Panthers LB Thomas Davis injures right knee
Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis suffered an injury, apparently to his right knee, with 10:29 remaining in the game. He was attended to by doctors and was helped off the field. Landon Johnson took his place in the lineup. Davis was having an excellent game.

Yet another Hurney-Fox-Delhomme production of "play not to lose, but we will anyway".
It's tough to win when you play without a QB.
Posted by: heelatious | Nov 8, 2009 6:57:04 PM
Here comes a Delhomme int to end it. Oh, better yet, we are running off of our own 2 yd. line, with 2 minutes left.
God Fox, you are a complete moron. They can't get rid of your sorry @#! quick enough. Make sure you take Hurney and Delhomme with you.
Why in the hell do I put myself through this every week watching this pathetic coach, and our non-existent QB screw us every week. The D should ask for a mass trade to get away from their incompetence.

I hate fox
Posted by: jake the snake | Nov 8, 2009 7:01:10 PM
too bad Jake can't get a career-ending injury....it'll be the only way to get rid of his lousy ass....
Posted by: Phil | Nov 8, 2009 7:10:35 PM
how is this jake's fault? Hell I don't like him either but that is a moronic statement.
Posted by: chicken little | Nov 8, 2009 7:11:40 PM
This team is a joke, and no bigger joke, than the guy that wears #17.
If all that Fox wants is a QB that can hand the ball off, play Moore. I'm sick and tired of watching this team play the way it does on offense. Get a lead, and then hand off three times, because Delhomme can't be trusted not to turn it over.
Congratulations Fox, you got the lead and played not to lose, and that's exactly what you did...lose.

Can't put this one on Jake
Posted by: Dustin | Nov 8, 2009 7:12:54 PM
Are you kidding me? This isn't delhomme fault fucking dickheads. If Deangelo caught the two passes right in his hands we would have WON the game.
Posted by: Gamble20 | Nov 8, 2009 7:13:59 PM
What I don't understand is why we ALWAYS STOPSOING WHAT IS WORKING IN THE SECOND HALF. I'm sick of it. And why are we te ONLY team in the NFL that doesn't check down to the runningback? We do that like twice a game. The patriots whole fuckin offense is checking down.
Posted by: Gamble20 | Nov 8, 2009 7:16:25 PM
if we had a QB that the coaches trusted, we wouldn't have gone conservative with 2 minutes to go in the first half. pathetic
Posted by: bertrous | Nov 8, 2009 7:17:59 PM
Will someone please tell me what the hell the panthers are doing? I do not understand the play calls, why we keep Jake and his inconsistency, why we throw away a entire game, why we start passing in the 2nd half and not run the ball like we did in the first half, why why why. I am sick and tired of Fox, our QB, our coordinators, the entire bunch at this point. When are we going to play, act, run, throw, tackle, block, and whatever else like a true football team instead of some nobody's out there playing tag football. I feel like the fans are the only ones that see how self destructive the panthers are and the fact that we either need a new head coach, definitely a new QB, and new coordinators, but come on someone in the Panthers organization has to wake up and do something.
Posted by: Tiffaney | Nov 8, 2009 7:20:37 PM
chicken little,
It's Jake's fault because the coaching staff doesn't have enough faith in Jake, to let him throw the ball. We get a lead, and it's run, run, run, punt. Everybody in the Superdome knew what the Panthers were going to do after they went up 17-3.
Until this team gets a QB that is capable of throwing the ball more than 15 times a game, and a coach that has enough functioning brain cells to know that 17 points is not enough to beat the Saints.
Fox-Delhomme-Hurney, just leave, please.

You bozzos can't blame Delhomme for this loss. You got recievers who can't catch a ball in the endzone or can't get open. He was putting the ball right where he needed to. Learn to analyze football, and maybe you'll learn what your true weaknesses are. Well, see you guys at the end of the season. My guess is that stadium of yours will be relatively empty then. Maybe I'll go up and watch that game up there!
Geaux Saints.

I don't know what "bozzos" are, but STB4 has a point. Smith didn't look good today. Of course, neither did Colston - but the Saints have more than Colston.

Great game Panthers, thanks! Geaux Saints!!! 8-0 for the first time in Franchise history. And we are marching on... see you at the end of the season!!

Go to your room kiddies and finish your homework. As moronic as you all sound you'll need plenty of study.

This was a must win for us, and it meant nothing to NO. Yet they just could not allow themselves to stoop so lowly as to lose to a team that has no fire in their belly. Season is over as it was so scripted before the 1st game began. NFL-Wrestle-mania fate complete. Life is too short to be continuously played as fans-for-fools each year. Panthers will win next year and make the playoffs, but what joy can you have when you know even the wins are rigged? What accomplishment is worthy of your time, money, and support if it be scripted as any other theatrical production? Only fools would support such make believe.

jake the snake,
you are a douchebad. i hope you suffer a career ending injury so you can no longer flip burgers and make milkshakes.
Posted by: unccpike | Nov 8, 2009 7:57:07 PM
Lots of interesting comments above. But, if you really look at both teams, offense, defense, run, pass, special teams, etc. -- the only striking difference is QB. By a mile.
Think the Panthers would have lost this game if we had switched QBs? Not even close.
Until the Panthers realize they can have a great D, a great running game, AND a great QB, we'll be scratching out 8-8 seasons.
Posted by: buckley | Nov 8, 2009 8:00:29 PM
for anyone who says we can't blame delhomme, get a clue. if we had a qb who could complete a freakin pass do you think we would have to run every stupid play? are you really satisfied with a qb whose play you are happy with when he doesn't LOSE the game directly? put in moore. at least we could maybe get something out of the passing game.
Posted by: altdude | Nov 8, 2009 8:04:17 PM
Am I seriously reading that this game is being blamed on Delhomme? Really, freaking really? Please tell me how he screwed up tonight? I saw one pass that was questionable to jarrett. One major mistake killed us tonight (the williams fumble) and rightfully so nobody is going to talk crap about him.
Get off of Jake and realize that global warming and all of the world's problems have not been caused by him.
Do not bring IGNORANT arguments onto the board.
Posted by: carolinajon | Nov 8, 2009 8:05:06 PM
and unccpike,
you are the true "douchebad" and I hope that you learn how to flip a burger before you graduate so that you are able to be of some use to the world once you finish middle school at age 18...and yes, I meant middle school.
Posted by: carolinajon | Nov 8, 2009 8:07:37 PM
It's amazing. The schools are so ba in New Orleans, that you cant even spell GO correctly.
Posted by: chris from charlotte | Nov 8, 2009 8:13:19 PM
altdude,
answer this in your head...would you rather us have Matt Ryan....think...think.....think...
now go look at his stats today and don't say "he won." His team won...our TEAM lost today. jake didn't fumble on the 2 and have it run back for a TD with 2 minutes left...jake didn't run into his own arm 5 yards away from our goal line on a run play. I'm going to go back to what I said earlier. Don't be IGNORANT.
