Smith added to Panthers' injury report

Wide receiver Steve Smith was added to the Panthers' injury report today with sore ribs. After not being on the report all week, he is listed as questionable to play Sunday vs. The New York Jets.

A team spokesman said Smith showed up today with the soreness after apparently tweaking his ribs in practice Friday.

Smith is the Panthers' leading receiver with 45 catches for 599 yards and four touchdowns. He's the only non-tight end on the team with a TD reception.

Defensive end Charles Johnson (pectoral) was downgraded from doubtful to out after not making the trip with the team.
