Third quarter update: Jets 14, Panthers 3

There were no points in the third quarter, but the Panthers' painfully woeful offensive performance continued.

Quarterback Jake Delhomme finished the perido 6 of 15 passes for 33 yards and three interceptions, while running back DeAngelo Williams had 39 yards on 15 attempts.

If Jerry Richardson doesn't do something now to blow up this team, we will end up worse than we are. Forget how many INTs Jake threw today, just look at his mechanics...it's totally off. His head is NOT right, he continually over/under throws and throws too many sailing passes.

Fox apparently can't see to give any of our other QBs a chance. Why even bring them in and give them any salary money if we don't even trust any of our other QBs. Seriously, I can't see any other QBs on our roster throwing 17 INTs to 8TDs for an entire season. This just goes to show you Fox is DONE as a coach and he, along with Delhomme, are no longer assets to the Panthers but liabilities.

Something BETTER happen now before Smitty, Pepp, Beason, D.Will say they've had enough and want out of Carolina. Then, we will be set back for many years to come!

JERRY, DO SOMETHING NOW!!!! Don't let it wait until end of the season.

this team has given up

Posted by: sirpurr | Nov 29, 2009 3:46:36 PM

Panthers are now 119 and 120 alltime

Posted by: sirpurr | Nov 29, 2009 3:48:24 PM

this is worse than 2001.................

Posted by: sirpurr | Nov 29, 2009 3:49:36 PM

No, don't listen to idiots like KYL. Don't "blow up the team". Thats just a dumb uneducated fan.

Delhomme HAS TO GO. Fox needs to go IF he doesn't bench Delhomme.

But Delhomme has to be benched.

If our backup QBs are no better than Jake, why are they on the team, cut them and bring somebody else in.

DON'T LET SHANAHAN GO TO THE BILLS

Posted by: Gamble20 | Nov 29, 2009 3:51:26 PM

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....you are talking too loud....it might wake Mr. Richardson up.

Posted by: cmo | Nov 29, 2009 3:51:39 PM

All i want is a pretty good reason from Fox why he isnt giving Matt Moore a start in the next game. Jake just trew his 4th interception and i fear Fox turned him into a David Carr type of player. Jake is broken. He is too old to redeem himself and carries a heavy contract, cut him after the season ... only wise move there is.

Why does Jake act surprised when he throws an interception? You can not just throw the ball up and hope for the best. I have been a fan of Jake and John Fox for many years - but they have moved from stubborn to just stupid. I wish this team the best and will continue to watch, but do me a favor and put someone else in at quarterback. I would not question if you put Tank Tyler in there just change things up.

I'd like to see just how bad Matt Moore is at next weeks home game...and for the rest of the games this season. If he has a lower completion percentage and a similar turnover # than Jake...then I say cut him next year (along with McClown) and put Jake on IR since it's pretty obvious something just ain't right.Trim that QB salary (even with Jake on the bench) and grab a handful out of the later rounds of the draft and let them compete.

This team is a joke.OFFENCE DEFENCE UNSPECIAL TEAMS. We have running backs and that is it.John Fox should be fired at the end of the game.

Posted by: MIKE D | Nov 29, 2009 3:55:45 PM

Great coaching move there, having no one back for the punt and wasting precious seconds. Like we have the ST's to block a punt or have pressured any punter this year.

i think there is a lot of talent on this team. unfortunately, it isn't the starting QB. put moore in, lets see what he can do if given a fair chance. fire fox yesterday.

Is Moore that bad? Why hasn't he been given a shot? Delhomme needs to be benched. How he's still playing is beyond me...

On a positive note, the defense has done well today. It would have been much worse then an 11 point loss without them.

Jake has had his time in the sun but it is over now. We need a new QB! Put Matt in now and let him play the rest of the season and get so experience behind center.

the team is poke salad! the coach is poke salad! fire fox at 415 pm today! make ron meeks the coach for the rest of the year and cut jake at 430 pm today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just terrible.

Posted by: kenny | Nov 29, 2009 4:08:24 PM

Fox is in too deep with Jake. If he starts Moore and the offense improves how will he explain waiting this long to do it. We are stuck with Jake until the end of the season when both he and Fox will be gone. Jake because he cannot play and Fox because he is not willing to change.

Keep it down, you will wake Mr. Richardson.
