Beason: I put myself in 'vulnerable' situation
Panthers linebacker Jon Beason writes on his blog that his recent arrest was a "learning experience" and that he put himself "in a situation where you might be vulnerable and someone takes advantage of it."
Beason was arrested and charged last week with punching a man at a Charlotte strip club on Nov. 16. The man -- Gregory Frye -- has also filed a civil lawsuit against Beason.
Beason, whose court date is Jan. 11, said he is confident he will be exonerated and "my reputation restored." -- David Scott

Any player that gives us 100% support, we give them 100% back in support. Not to worry about us fans Jon. We are behind you 100%. You have earned every bit of our support and respect.

Anyone that has been around Jon, knows he is a good guy. I have had the pleasure of meeting him twice, and he was more than you could hope for. This coming from someone who does not like Miami Hurricanes at all!!!! But he is a great guy! I will support Jon no matter what the outcome is.

Charles Bright, I should have know you would have jumped on this one. Criminals should be treated like criminals, despite their popularity or occupation. If he is guilty, he should get the same sentencing as everyone else (except for fines, where salary should be considered, and that should be changed for everyone else as well).
It is interesting to see how when an NFL star commits a clear criminal act, rocks all over this country pop up like popcorn, and the likes of people like you jump out and do their best to defend those criminals and thereby promote that criminal behavior. It is both disturbing and disgusting.
I am just curious though, where were you when the Plaxico Burress story was being covered (which was a real tragedy, btw)?? For that matter, why are you not complaing about what the hype machine is doing to Tiger Woods???
In short, give it a rest already! For real.

So Jon, why did I see you and 4 of your boys back at Uptown Cabaret last Sunday night yet again. Sure you got an escort via a bouncer to the VIP area upstairs where the prostitution happens. Is that really your solution?

They deleted my last comment to you, which was completely clean and much more diplomatic than this one, by they way. Let's see what they do with this one.

Don't play so well next game Beast. I have to make the team think the need me and see if I can get another raise.

And btw, the last comment I was referring to was one I posted months ago. They were screening everything I wrote then, lieterally. It is interesting they are letting pretty much everything I write now to slide. It still gets inspected and posted some time later, but they still put em up here. hmmmmm

What is disturbing and disgusting is that you presume Beason guilty until he can prove himself innocent SYRPIS. You throw the word 'criminal' around like he is a common street thug when he has been nothing but an upstanding citizen with no criminal record. Lucky for all of us, the court of law does not operate in the same fashion as the court of public opinion and Jon will get his day in court to clear his name. BTW, have you done ANY reading on the guy suing him? He is the criminal.
And DumbBunny, whether it gels with your moral makeup or not, going to the Uptown Cabaret is not a crime, and just because he goes up to the VIP where 'prostitution happens', it doesn't mean he is engaging in that activity. If we follow that logic, I walked down a street the other day, and prostitution happens on a street so I must be guilty of that too. Jon (or any of us) shouldn't have to bunker himself down or change his routine just because he has been accused of something that has yet to be proven.
Bottom line: don't be so fast to judge, especially in a situation where you do not have all of the facts presented before you, which you don't.

If anyone knows Jon Beason, they know he's the type of guy who is a straight shooter. I've met and are friends with alot of the panthers players and Jon is one of the nicest most down to earth guy on the team. If you notice what has happened in the news recently with Tiger then you would know this chump is only filing a lawsuit against Beason for money and publicity. Personally I think If the guy was yelling out all night he was a "panthers player" I think Jon should have treated him like a RB and piledrived his *** in the ground for disrespecting the team.

Why do they always learn their lesson AFTER they get caught???? An honest person making an honest mistake would learn their lesson when they are one step AHEAD of the jailer....not after they are arrested.Education people.....education!!!

Unfortunately no matter how much of a stand up guy Beason is he was wrong to hit this guy no matter how much of a d**sh the other guy was being. No matter what he said it didn't justify Beason punching the guy and the court system will unfortunately swing that way.

Look Syphilis. Why in the world would anyone here be the least bit interested in what happens to Plaxico Burress or Tiger Woods? Or for your illogical pretense of returning to your imaginary post as comments monitor? Get a life dip chit.
Posted by: charlesbright | Dec 9, 2009 1:56:11 PM
Based on what I have read on this story, he did not hit the chump hard enough so he would have not remembered who allegedly hit him. He was looking for a pay check from any Panther player. He just happened to find Beason and set him up would be my take on the situation. My opinion has nothing to do with how I feel about the Panthers (which is not good these days). It has to do with some loser angling to get a payoff from a celebrity.

Who is Jon Beason?
Posted by: Troy | Dec 9, 2009 2:06:58 PM
Why can't players go somewhere other than a strip club to celebrate after a win?? I was thinking Sunday watching Beason play so well - "please don't go to a strip club" and it seems from comments he did. Some people just don't learn and I like Beason. But 3 strikes you are out- made the trip to the Big Cat's foyer yet?!?!?!? It may be coming if you keep it up. Anyone with a brain the size of a pea should be paying attention to Tiger Woods- he is DONE. And all because of that zipper in his pants.

Just wondering if frye was 6'4 250+ and muscular would beason had responded the same way he did..There are plenty of beautiful women here in Charlotte that Beason can go out with on a Sunday night and not have to go to a strip club..Do you ever see Steve Smith, D'Angelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart at these whore holes? Beason was not threatened so he will pay dearly

Everyone makes mistakes. Now lets play football.
Posted by: Terry Farkas | Dec 9, 2009 2:52:19 PM
Big Dave, are you serious. This guy goes up against people 6'4 250 and sometimes 300 plus every week. WTF, I mean really!!
Posted by: Chuck | Dec 9, 2009 2:54:07 PM
Greg is an idiot! He loves being the center of attention, and I bet he caused a scene to taunt Beason. So sad! I hope Greg gets NOTHING! Tool!

Big Dave,
Greg is that big....thats whats so funny.
Posted by: Bobby | Dec 9, 2009 3:23:25 PM
So what if Beason went to a strip club after a win. Do you know if it was really because of a win? What if he was invited by a friend regardless if they win or not - a prior commitment to a friend.
Posted by: publicopinion | Dec 9, 2009 4:07:59 PM
he went to the U.
he's just being what he became as a hurricane. anyways, the dude is playter on the field.
Posted by: Sean May | Dec 9, 2009 4:11:48 PM
YOU GUYS HAVE TO BE KIDDING RIGHT. A MAN CANT GO TO A STRIP CLUB BECAUSE HE CAN GET ANY GIRL HE WANTS. YOU CAN GET ANY GIRL YOU WANT AND STILL BE ABLE TO GO TO A LEGAL ESTABLISHMENT. YOU PEOPLE HOLLA ABOUT HOW CELEBS THROW THEIR STATUS AROUND AND THEN WHEN THEY DO NORMAL THINGS MOCK THEM FOR IT....WTF... AND IF SOMEONE KEEPS HARASSING YOU LYING TO EVERYONE(WHICH IS WHAT THE DUDE SUPPOSEDLY DID) YOU TELL ME YOU WONT CLOCK HIM ONE GOOD TIME EITHER.. ANYBODY WOULD

Unfortunately once again the haters and discriminators jump on certain people as soon as some trouble comes their way. But I'm sure most of you making comments have hit a man before in the past and will probably in the future for being disrespectful to you or your family. It's nothing, people fight all the time and by the way this Frye cat is, he seems to have wanted to be struck by Beason. With Beason's record which is clean and Frye's record which is not, makes Frye not too credible in a court of law without eye witnesses who I speculate both parties will have present if need be. Let he/she with no sin, cast the first stone, ya'll haters make me sick!
