Kemoeatu expects to be back for mini-camp

Defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu said Wednesday his ruptured Achilles is healing sufficiently enough that he expects to participate in next spring's mini-camp.
Kemoeatu said the Achilles, which he injured on the first day of training camp, is "ready to go." But he said he underwent a second surgery this fall when the original surgical scar was not healing properly. He said he might have another surgery on the area around the scar Friday, but that it would not hinder his return timetable.
Kemoeatu is out of a cast and is no longer on crutches. He's getting around with his bent right leg supported by a rolling device.
Kemoeatu's injury turned out to be first of many for the Panthers, who have had nine other players go on injured reserve this season. They haven't had the same 11 players start on defense in any of their 13 games.
"They said I was the curse of the injuries," Kemoeatu said. "That's a bad way to look at it." -- David Scott

It must be his size that he needs a rolling device. I hope he heals up and is ready for next year.

If this guy gets in shape he would be unstoppable. Why did it take a serious injury for him to realize that he needed to cut back on the cupcakes? Then again, his head coach doesn't know how to motivate or push anybody to become the best player that he can be, so I guess there's no suprise there. Even after the games the guy used to ride a golf cart from the locker to his car. All I can do is shake my head at this team....................

am i one of the only people that realize that we are gonna be STACKED next year at DT? Leonard, Kemo, Lewis, Thomas, Taylor, and the kid from NC state that got injured..that's alot more depth then we're used to. now just figure out what to do with freakin Pep....can anyone think of a plausible (and INTELLIGENT) way of us doing a sign and trade of Pep for like a 2nd or 3rd since no one is gonna give us a 1st obviously...?

Kemo is due a $9million bonus shortly after the season. He won't get it. Seeya Kemo. Good Luck.

The Panthers HAVE to get a QB and WR out of dealing Pep if they do so. Meeks runs a defense that is fast enough to make up for its short comings. Charles Johnson and Everette Brown can be good enough for Meeks Cover 2 system. Having a superstar in Pep, and nothing else, is holding the Panthers defense back. More importantly, the offense is holding the defense back and that should not be tolerated on a team that features such a formidable offensive line and running game.

"Rolling device?" What do you mean? Is he taking a cab??

A QB is our biggest need. Even with all the injuries our defense for the most part has been pretty good all season. Our offense is holding us back, but we have a great running game in shape. Another WR would obviously be great too but it won't really help too much without a great QB. Moore could still be the answer, but I'd like to see us get someone else anyway.

"having a superstar in pep and nothing else"

I guess if your defining superstar as highly recognized, then yes. But if you mean that as in very good players then Gamble Beason and Davis (before his injury) are superstars.

Yes, Gamble is very good. Despite what all of you say, just listen to the GM's and coachs that have played against us, they say Gamble is a top 5 Corner. No champ bailey or revis, but he's the next closest level which is saying quite a bit.

It is amazing what a great player Kemo became after his injury. What was his highlight play from last year when he played? I only recall a fat guy that was stood up at the line on every down and never penetrated into the backfield.
