Smith undergoes surgery, Fox has hope Williams may play vs. Saints
Panthers coach John Fox said in his weekly news conference that wide receiver Steve Smith underwent surgery today to repair a broken left forearm and that the procedure was successful.
Fox also said he has reason to believe there's a chance leading rusher DeAngelo Williams might be able to play in next Sunday's season finale against New Orleans. Williams has missed the past seven quarters of action due to an ankle injury.

Is there any possibility the game will be moved to a night game? Or is it too late for that.

Two games have already been moved to the evening slots. Our game will remain at 1pm.

If Fox would quit talking to us like we are ignorant children we would respect him more. I have heard him talk to hosts on Sirus Sat. Radio and he is actually likeable. He talks to them like they are his equal. Can someone please talk to the man and tell him it's ok to not play Jake and let someone else be the quarterback. We will not go back to the playoffs and win with Jake. John if you will embrace these changes then you would be a much better coach.

With a injury depleted team Fox actually did a great job keeping them motivated. The team did not quit on him, which is a sign the players like playing for him. Why not bring him back for another year.

Finally, people are coming around. Now if we go out here and lay an egg against the Saints, we will be calling for his head again. Although, I do not think that will happen, I am happy everyone is onboard with keeping Fox. Delhomme is not the answer and it took Fox a long time to see that just like Foster. They can keep Jake as a backup because he knows the offense. Hunter Cantwell seemed like he can play and we still need to draft a receiver and a quartback.

what they need is a solid #2 receiver and possibly groom mike goodson to work as a slot-h back.i love dwill but the giants web sites were saying stewart looked like jim brown on sunday. i think we should have a running back competition in camp next year.stewart can get you yards when nobody is blocking.we need more carries out of him.he wears defenses out. then you bring in dwill to hit those 60 yarders when the def is tired.

Hey Matt Moore had a great game. Congratulations!! As for Moose he played one good game or should I say 2 good routes this year. We need a receiver to compliment Steve Smith. Yes Matt Moore threw the ball deep but it wasn't to Moose(he can't go deep anymore) it was to Smitty who beat a "man on man coverage" something we hadn't seen defenses give us this whole year. Good Luck with the Surgery Smitty.
