Will I be coaching the Panthers next year?

Posted by: John Fox | Jan 3, 2010 5:44:06 PM

So is Moose really too old to be a receiving threat? He looked pretty good today with a more accurate QB under center.

Posted by: JM | Jan 3, 2010 5:48:15 PM

Should we go after Matt Lienart? I think it would be a good idea and hey Arizona don't want him.

If there is no extension to the CBA and 2010 is an uncapped year, could the Panthers choose to cut Jake, paying him his 12+ million guarentee, but lessening the hit against the future. Matt Moore wasn't as impressive as recent weeks but he was effective. For a team needing a "game manager" not a "superstar qb" one has to wonder if that would be the best way to move forward.

Go after Matt Lienart? After freaking Matt Moore throws 8 touchdowns the past 4 games opposed to 0 interceptions?

D-duh!

will pep be in a panthers uniform next season

Posted by: Al | Jan 3, 2010 6:09:26 PM

Would Ron Meeks make a good fit for Head Coach, in your opinion, should Fox choose to leave??

Posted by: Simon Says | Jan 3, 2010 6:25:01 PM

If next year is an uncapped year - would it be wise to buy out Jake's contract and be done with things?

Posted by: cheerman23 | Jan 3, 2010 6:25:08 PM

Is there any chance they consider getting a new special teams coach? I feel that is one area the team could upgrade.

Posted by: cheerman23 | Jan 3, 2010 6:26:10 PM

If you could pick three players you don't see returning who would it be?

Posted by: cheerman23 | Jan 3, 2010 6:28:23 PM

What are the home and away games for next season?

Posted by: Pantherfan | Jan 3, 2010 6:31:33 PM

I think Jason Campbell would be a great fit in Carolina..I'm juss sayin'..

Posted by: TIMtationX | Jan 3, 2010 6:33:52 PM

Ok let me explain this for fans who just don't seem to get it. Matt Moore Just threw 8 touchdown passes in four games with no picks. Not only did he get better each game ( as young qbs sometimes do) the team seemed alot more into the games than earlier in the season. They seem to play harder for him. TO you guys who keep talking about bringing in Campbell or Leinhart (did you see his numbers from today?)How about instead of bringing in a qb that Matt has out performed we try getting some receivers that can get open. How about we get a coach who tries throwing the ball on 3rd and long. How about we give the guy who is 6-2 as a starter a whole season to see what he can do. I think you might just like the results.

Posted by: Jerry Leonard | Jan 3, 2010 6:44:39 PM

Is no one gonna mention that the Panthers set a NFL record today with 2 RB's with 1100+ yards each????

Posted by: pland67 | Jan 3, 2010 6:46:52 PM

Jerry Leonard, I agree with everything you said except the bringing in a new coach.

Most would agree that Andy Reid made a mistake when he pulled Mcnabb out in order to start Kolb in the past. Would you say that Fox has taken a little too much heat for trying to stick with his starting QB?

Posted by: PantherPat | Jan 3, 2010 6:52:28 PM

WHat are the chances that John Fox moves on to another coaching job. $6 mil for next year would most likely be more then anything he would get else where. If he were to leave what sort of compensation would the Panthers get? Tampa gave up two 1st rnd picks to get Gruden away from the Raiders...I doubt Fox would command that after an 8-8 season but a draft pick or two is certainly a possibility.

Posted by: Matthew McPhail | Jan 3, 2010 6:57:27 PM

Yeah... Jason Campbell? Maybe as a backup. That guy has been garbage. People have been making excuses for him for years... you know... too many coaching changes. He's a backup. His 12 fumbles this year... are twice the number of a certain injured QB we have on our roster. Skins fans look at him like we look at Jake this year...

Posted by: Ashe | Jan 3, 2010 7:08:31 PM

just as i thought jarrett can play. jake kept on saying it's time for him to step up. he did with a real qb.

Posted by: joe cool | Jan 3, 2010 7:14:06 PM

Ashe
The Redskins 17 is a better QB than our 17. He had a terrible o-line this year so yeah he has a very valid reason for being a bum. Why was Jake so bad? It sure wasn't the o-line or the receivers because Mr. Moore played with less o-line and one less star receiver today yet he had a good rating. Not saying we should bring Campbell but sheesh, give that guy a break.

Posted by: stats are for losers | Jan 3, 2010 7:20:56 PM

Rick, Jake was never a SUPERSTAR,but he came in and did the what was necessary ! The same thing applies to M3 !!

Posted by: nasty704 | Jan 3, 2010 7:25:24 PM

Why do they call Matt Moore M3?

Posted by: lost in a star | Jan 3, 2010 7:28:04 PM

It seems like Schwartz and Bernadeau played pretty well as starters. How will their play, combined with Gross and Otah returning and Vincent being a FA, effect the makeup of next year's O-line? Also, which of the many D-tackles (Kemo, Lewis, Tyler, Leonard, Thomas, Irvin, Hayden) will be back

Posted by: TP | Jan 3, 2010 7:45:39 PM

All of the understandable criticism of Jake overlooks the fact that he got terrible pass protection, much worse that
Moore. He was constantly under pressure even when he was not sacked. Was this the cause of his terrible interception record? Only John Fox knows. I have noticed that Moore seems better at getting away from the rush, running, and throwing away the ball on what would otherwise be a sack.

How many fingers am i holding up? If you was an ice cream what flavor would you be? Is 2012 really going to be the end of the world? what is our government hiding in area 51? Those questions will get more of a decisive answer than any others asked. These reporters dont know chit about whats going on, they were reporting that the Saints were starting their starters today, after the nfl site reported they werent.

Yall may as well ask your magic 8 balls, you will get more accurate answers.
