Colts' Freeney active for Super Bowl

A few pre-game notes from Super Bowl XLIV at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. ...

(x) Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney is on the active list and expected to start after sitting out practice all week nursing a torn ligament in his ankle.

About the only notable inactive player for the Colts is kicker Adam Vinatieri, a two-time Super Bowl hero. Due to recovering from knee surgery, he's spent the latter part of the season on the active roster but behind Matt Stover on the depth chart.

(x) Former Panthers guard Jamar Nesbit is inactive for the Saints. So is former Clemson linebacker Anthony Waters.

(x) The weather should be ideal, though unseasonably cool. There are clear blue skies over the stadium now, but temperatures mild enough (low 60s now, eventually dropping into the 50s) to make long sleeves and jackets not only comfortable, but also preferred.
