Panthers preseason schedule announced

The new-look Panthers will open the preseason on national television, as they go to Baltimore for an Aug. 12 game on ESPN. Dates and times for the rest of the games are subject to change, but they will host the New York Jets and Tennessee the following two weeks, and close the preseason with a trip to Pittsburgh.     The Panthers will host the Ravens in the regular season, and will go to Pittsburgh in the regular season as well.

Is there any chance we can play some different teams in the preseason? We finally lost the Giants, but we have only played Pittsburgh how many years in a row in preseason?

That's awesome we have a challenging schdule for the preason which will prove that carolina can go 16 and 0 taking it all as superbowl champs with a new young QB my boy MATT MOORE!!!BABY, let's go PANTHERS!!!

They play the Steelers every preseason. It's a deal they have with the NFL.

The NFL tries to keep teams to short trips in the preseason, while also trying not to schedule you with a team you will face in the regular season. Of course it does not always work out that way, but they do their best. Also, there is a gentleman's agreement with the Steelers Owner(s) and Mr. Richardson to try and play a preseason every year when possible.

Would someone please tell me why we are not making an effort to go after McNabb ?

Posted by: Nasty704 | Mar 31, 2010 4:19:51 PM

Thank you!?!!!! Why not???? I mean I know we don't have the first rounder this year but we could work out something, maybe a 6th and our first next year! Please believe he is the answer!

Great preseason lineup. We opened the preseason on national TV last year as well, if I remember correctly. Tough preseason opponents (at least based on their records from the previous season) are a Godsend.

The Eagles want a top 42 pick, the Panthers have the 48th pick. Also as much "mostly" everyone complains about them trading away 1st rounder.

Why do u want them to trade next yrs 1st rounder for a 33 yr old QB, in which theirs no guarantee he return to the next after the 2010 season. Waist of a trade for that scenario.

Besides Steve S, who does the Panthers have as a threat at the WR position? No one, don't say Jarret until he actually cares about improving.

WR is a need also to add depth at certain position. Also to fix that horrible specials teams that gave teams good field position along with Jake D ints.

I agree with AC's comments. No need to think about getting McNabb. He's over 30 and on a one year contract. Plus he wouldn't fit into the Panthers "new budget".

Pittsburgh and the NYG play Carolina ONLY at there house...every time!...WTF

Adam Carter, when you have a sports page, I will read it, dude. But focus on the topic at hand.

I'm concerned about the well-being of our Top Cats when we play the Steelers. Those animals have no respect for women. Big Ben and Santonio will double-team our pretty girls. Someone must stop them.

Looking forward to see how good Tim Tebow looks in Black and Blue this preseason. LOL!

Right now it almost seems as though anybody should fit into our "new budget" after all the losses and raised ticket prices. I dont think we need mcnabb, however I believe we should go after Brandon Marshall. It would be easier to draft a starting DE with our current pick as opposed to WR. I think that would give us a great shot next year. I understand the philosophy but it wouldnt hurt to go after a big name here and there to make the team better and fill needs that wouldnt be filled any other way.If we fill those two needs where else would we be desperate other than adding some depth. No expert, just speaking what seems to be the logical idea.

@ SirPurdy

Lol im focusing on the topic at hand.

Just responding to someone post, stating why the Panthers aren't interested in Mcnabb and that they shouldn't give up a high draft due to being on a 1yr deal.

Im no in h#ll a expert, just stating my opinon.

I usually dont attend preseason games but since that jackass Jerry Richardson raised my ticket prices I cant afford to let them go to waste anymore. Now I am forced to attend meaningless games. Thanks again JR you greedy bastard

The panther dont need MCNabb they need Micheal Vick

Posted by: Anthony Davis | Mar 31, 2010 8:14:44 PM

You could always sell your preseason tickets for the difference in the raised price & the old price, maybe even make a couple dollars back from your original investment on them, just an idea to save you the time & trouble of going to a useless game.

Posted by: MrBernz | Mar 31, 2010 8:30:59 PM

I would be glad to give you double the raise for your tickets just shoot me an email.

Based on the schedule looks like Traing Camp will start a full 5 days earlier for us this year. We got a later start last year due to a Monday Night Game. Look for Training Camp to Start July 29th. Go Panthers.

BTW - John Fox is an excellent coach despite the naysayers

Why do we have to play "the Pitts" in preseason every year?!!! Yes i know that the rooneys and the Richardsons are good friends but still! Routines get old. At least we're playing them in Pitts this time but we need to stop catering to all the PA people that have moved here. Go home!

Posted by: pland67 | Mar 31, 2010 10:03:30 PM

The Panthers play Pittsburgh because its the US Airways hub bowl, they got a deal on cheap air fare.

"The panther don't need McNabb they need Micheal Vick"

AGREED with a capital "A"!!!!

Posted by: Cobrabitn | Apr 1, 2010 1:14:10 AM

Nasty--- because they don't want (or need) anymore controversy. It is that simple and it is what it is. I think Oakland will appreciate Donkeyman's rendition of Elvis (the stupid dance he was doing to mock fans at the end of last season) much more. Frankly, I think it's a perfect match made in hell.

Alex Brown was released by the Bears. What are the chances the Panthers sign him to replace Peppers? No need to draft a DE if there is an above average veteran available.
