Moore "feeling better" after concussion

Panthers coach John Fox said that QB Matt Moore "felt a lot better," after suffering a concussion Sunday afternoon, and would not rule him out of this week's game against Tampa Bay.

Fox was clear when asked if Moore would start if healthy, taking that potential uncertainty out of the question.

Moore was sacked four times and threw three interceptions in the end zone in Sunday's loss. He left late in the game after being drilled by Giants DE Osi Umenyiora, and was replaced by Jimmy Clausen.

And Clausen promptly looked like a scared little child.

Fox will use the concussion as an excuse to play Clausen even if Moore is healthy.

You'd look scared too if you had defensive tackles and ends flinging themselves at you all over the place...

Nah. He looked like he soiled himself.

Jimcat? What makes you think Fox needs to use anything as an excuse? Thats thinking like someone that has no authority. He is the head coach, he will play whoever he wants & doesnt need any excuses for the fans. He will play who he thinks gives him the best chance to win.

Moore still deserves to start even after making some bad throws yesterday. He played too well last year not to get a shot. He probably would have played a little bit better if the o-line could have gave him just a little time. My frustration lies with the lack of going to the running game in the second half and in the redzone.

Worst pass blocking O-line in the league by a long shot. Harding High could get to the QB on this group. 3 wins at the MOST is a lock. Cheap tickets for all!!! Lowers/clubs for less than $50 each are EASY to come by. It is going to get a LOT worse before it gets any better! Tampa-34 Kitty Cats-12

Carolina fans infatuation with Matt Moore truly puzzles me.He had an awful pre-season and and a terrible first game which included 4 interceptions and they still are convinced he is the real deal.Unbelievable!!

cppro, how about giving the kid a bit of break? He came in late in the game with his back against the goal line, and did well just not to get hit. I take it from your slanted comments that you have already made your mind up about Clausen without even giving him a chance to prove himself. For that alone, I hope he comes in and once and for all silences people like you who have no real reason to criticize him--at least not yet. And soiling himself? I have no doubt that the kid has more toughness and fight in his little finger than 10 cppros put together.

Where is Chris Leake when we need him?

Poor showing was not only by Moore. Panther receivers need to fight for every reception. The other receivers need a little "89" attitude injected into their souls.

To cppro: Clausen ran two plays from his own end zone, dodging a brutal pass rush each time. Brave guy that you are, I bet you would have taken a knee and a safety to keep from getting hit.

I thought Clausen handled that situation pretty well. Most Rookie QBs aren't asked to start their career on their own 2 yard line behind a O-Line that wasn't communicating very well. If Matt Moore did have a concussion he shouldn't play this weekend. After yesterday I hope Clausen does get a shot. We got rid of Jake because he turned the ball over a lot. Matt Moore might end up doing a lot better job but something tells me he isn't quite ready for prime time yet. Clausen looks like he was born to play QB. If you can't notice the kids talent then you don't know much about football.

david carr just called and asked if carolina fans were seriously asking for jimmy clausen

It will not matter who plays QB if we run the same vanilla offense and abandon the run like we did this week.

Our fans are so idoitic....sounds like chicken little..."the sky is fallin',the sky is fallin'". Geezzzz what wimps. IT IS WHAT IT IS. We are rebuilding and won't go 1-15. This will be the year of the NEW BEGINNING and will CULMINATE, (I know that's a big word for the posters here) in the Super Bowl Championship in 2013. Unless, of course, Armegeddon gets here on 12-21-2012. I'm getting news reports that "This Armmegedon" is probably only to get teabagge-repubs. GO PANTHERS! Go MATT MOORE! You can be really good, and the teabags will be gone.

MrBernz-
You are exactly right, and that is a very scary thought.

Posted by: Brent | Sep 13, 2010 2:12:07 PM

its not just matt moore and jimmy clausen who need work, this team needs an attitude adjustment. watching panthers football has become a total waste of a sunday afternoon. theres no motivation, no intensity, and no heart. everyone (EVERYONE) is just going through the motions and collecting a paycheck. those of you saying that panthers fans are jumping ship are wrong. weve watched this crap bag performance for years now and when theres no intensity on the field why should there be any in the stands? were paying the salaries and lack luster football and medicority is all were getting in return.
