Panthers new QB? From BSP to KNE
The Panthers have another quarterback on the way, and he's at least young enough that he might not need a day off after throwing.
Former St. Louis sixth-round pick Keith Null is on his way to Charlotte, and he's staying this time. That's right, the Keith Null Era is about to begin.
Null was the fall-back plan two weeks ago, when they weren't sure they were going to be able to land Brian St. Pierre. He came here for a workout, but left without signing, when they were able to talk BSP into coming in to play stable pony (a plan which didn't work out the way he envisioned).
Null, 25, threw for over 9,000 yards in his two seasons as starter at West Texas A&M. He started the last four games of 2009 for the Rams, including a five-interception hailstorm in his first start against Tennessee.
He's likely going to start on the practice squad, but a promotion could come if Jimmy Clausen isn't cleared after his concussion.

Seems like every year we go down the same road of trying new QB,s like a woman tries shoes. Nothing fits.
This is because the problem is the offensive line! No quarterback or coach could win with this level of blocking support much less a Saint.

What the heck are you guys doing with Pike?! Fox has got to be stupid...either play him or let him go. He can't be any worse than what you all have witnessed this season...

Agree with jay 100%

Totally agree with Jay. Please, can we see Pike play? Or can we just fire Fox so Pike gets a chance? I would rather have a chance to win consistently next year than now to help Fox's resume. Clearly this has to do with what's good for Fox rather than what's best for the team.

Brian St. Pierre and Keith Null? What an awesome combo. Smash & Dash need to move aside for the new dynamic duo... Null & Void

keith null is a winner, we will win at least 5 more games now..forget pike and edwards, cut them or trade them for a pick in the draft..panthers will win the last six games, just watch

Another example of Fox's "stick-in-the-eye" policy towards management and fans. If this doesn't convince you that Fox HATES it here, you just aren't paying attention. At this point, he is just seeing what it would take to get himself fired, plain and simple. Way to keep it classy, Fox...and to think I was once very upset to see you go.

The Panthers now have a clear road to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft. All they have to do is continue to lose every game and their future should be secure. Of course they also need to find a new coach, hopefully somebody young and extremely talented. They could hire a veteran coach like Bill Cowher but I doubt he will be nearly as successful as he was with the Steelers. The Panthers need new blood, lots of it.

So you are going to tell me that A Edwards, after his success in college cannot lead the Panthers any better than the so called Professional QB's like BSP and Null. Edwards does not know how to analyze his opponents defense. It is hard to believe but that is why he was drafted as a Wide Receiver, Yea.

Carolina Fans for Gruden or Cowher, STAND UP!!!!

We have one of the best all time college QBs sitting our bench in Edwards. Let's mix it up and go with him - at least it will be entertaining and I will keep watching. I know it is not the pefect John Fox type QB but look at Vick.

Maybe if Davidson had a creative play book to set his players up for success instead of running a elementary school offense. The Oline wouldn't have to block 8 to 9 guys majority of run/pass plays.
Davidson, Fox, and coaching staff is the problem. 7 more weeks until this crap ends.

Wow I wish Hurney wasn't stupid to trade next year 2nd for a project player. Man the AE fans are funny.

Yay Null - just like our offensive output - null.

I hear we are also bringing in Charlie Void as a back up running back in case Goodson goes down. Imagine that. If everything falls just right our backfield could be Null and

Who would have thought that Tiger Woods would embarrass himself this year more than perennial doofus John Daly? Oh wait, this is the golf board, right? Um, sorry. just trying to make conversation.

Jake Delhomme was the only QB that could win behind this offensive line. Look at Jake's numbers....he was a winner behind this loser OL. It seems Jake was tough as nails, in hind-sight. He played 7 years behind this OL and took us to 3 post-seasons. Anybody miss this guy Jake yet??

Please tell me that along with a new coach next year we will have a new GM. Marty Hurney seems to always escape blame for the current state of this team. He brags about the "home grown talent," and how we have a high percentage of drafted players on the roster. Someone needs to tell him that that is not the mark of a good team. If that is the mark of a good team, make me GM and I will get that to 100%. Of course I can't promise we would win a game. No offense to your profession, but the guy is a reporter by trade. How does he have any clue when it comes to personal? Why are we not hearing the fact that we gave up the 33rd pick for Armanti Edwards? That pick goes along with the other great picks like Ellison, Jarrett, Lafors, Shelton, Brown, Butler, Godfrey, and Irvin.

I posted the following a few days ago, and i'm still curious, why this wasn't done?
I'm just curious about why we didn't sign Hunter Cantwell, who was supposed to be our number 2 until jimmy took that job? Hunter Cantwell has to be better for this team than St. Pierre. Plus you give a chance to a guy that team wanted to keep anyways. I'm all for not letting pike or armanti play this, to keep them from getting hurt and giving us a better chance for the top pick next year. But I just would think that Cantwell is better fit for this team than St. Pierre.

I hope we don't try to win a couple of games and miss out on the top pick. If we're not making the playoffs, then there's no point trying win a couple of games. What I wanted to see was how our young players perform...make rest of the season like tryouts. Let's take a look at pike, claussen (if he's not hurt), armanti at both reciever and qb. I'm glad we're at least getting a look at goodson...if goodson continues to do what he's doing then i think the team will try to trade one of the 3 RBs. I know we can't call anyone a bust based on this season, but not a single pick from last year has performed well. I hope the whole draft doesn't turn out to be a bust for us.
yea we need a complete overhaul of the coaching staff. Maybe time for gm and team to go in diff. directions as well.

PLEASE GOD GIVE US GRUDEN NEXT YEAR

The Panthers are the only team who never give a black quarterback a chance. Passed on Vick for these idiots. Armanti has won it all twice. They even passed on Chris Leak. The Panthers lose because they have white-tracked minds and poor decision making skills
