Panthers inactives vs. Steelers

The Panthers will be without CB Chris Gamble for the fourth straight week, the fifth he's been out of the starting lineup.

This time, it's the ankle injury that cost him last week's game. The previous two weeks were a hamstring strain, and the week before he was benched.

Also inactive for the Panthers are WR Armanti Edwards, S Gerald Alexander, CB R.J. Stanford, FB Tony Fiammetta, C Chris Morris and DT Ed Johnson.

Edwards has been iffy all season anyway, but the practice time he missed with an illness means he gets to watch again. With Johnson out, that means rookie Andre Neblett and just-promoted Corvey Irvin get jerseys.

As expected, S Troy Polamalu is out for Pittsburgh.
