CBA deadline pushed back 24 hours

According to multiple reports out of Washington, the NFL and the players union have agreed to a 24-hour extension to the deadline for a collective bargaining agreement.

The fact they talked all day, agreed to keep talking, and the union didn't decertify all have to be viewed as positive signs.

In 2006, the deadline was pushed back 72 hours before an agreement was reached, so we'll see soon what this all means.

I hope they get it done, but it's pathetic that these guys can't figure out how to share 9 billion dollars while they're fans struggle to pay their bills.
The fans should form a union and lockout the NFL and it's players. I bet it wouldn't take long to figure out how to share 9 billion after a season with no fan support or fan dollars.
The owners and players are a greedy bunch who have long lost respect for their fans and they all should be ashamed.

If there's a lockout, team with new coaches, like the Panthers, are going to get killed. They can't have contact with their players, they can't teach them the playbooks -- it'll be a mess. Since Rivera and his staff won't be able to teach or watch Jimmy Clausen up close, I bet they draft a QB #1 overall. http://bit.ly/NFLMockDraft3

Jerry Richardson is the leader of this and has gone from the sweet tea drinking biscuit making good old boy who brought us the NFL,to a nasty bitter old man who sits around counting his money like Uncle Scrooge McDuck and tells the fans and players how stupid we are. He is heading towards Shin-dom...I'm starting to dislike him and everything he stands for.

I don't dislike Jerry, but I do dislike ignorant posts like the one Sportdon just made. I get so tired of these ignorant posts that think they know what Jerry is thinking or what is going on with the talks between the owners and players. What a bunch of cry babies.

turns into 7 day, 14 day, 21 day...... what's the use of having a "deadline" if all you do is move it? Obviously, neither side is willing to budge or compromise. No matter how you word it, extend it, say "we are talking", moving the deadline isn't solving anything but delaying decision making which seems to be stagnant. Someone (side) grow a pair and make a freaking decision!
