Dodging bullets on a Monday morning

There's not much anyone can be sure of in the NFL right now.

But this one I'm pretty sure of.

Despite a throwaway line in a Minnesota column, the Panthers aren't interested in being the next installment in quarterback Brett Favre's reality show.

In a Sunday column in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, Charley Walters wrote a lot about Gophers business and Minnetonka High, and then threw in the following:

"Don't discount the possibility of Brett Favre, who turns 42 in October, returning next season, but not with the Vikings. Maybe Carolina."

In a word (OK, three words), that's not happening. Ran it up the flagpole early this morning, and the response was swift and sure. Maybe somewhere. But not here.

-- This would be bigger than VCU and Butler in the Final Four.

Results will be announced today in the first-round matchups of the bracket to decide the next cover boy for EA Sports' Madden '12 video game. Panthers LT Jordan Gross was the 15 seed against No. 2 Matt Ryan, the QB of the Atlanta Falcons.

Now, I'm not sure if being on the cover of Madden is anything anyone aspires to, but guessing Gross will be OK if he doesn't pull the upset.

Rather have Farve as any QB in the draft or any on the roster.

You'd rather have a whiny, arrogant, non-leader, washed up as your QB? I'd rather have anyone other than Farve. Heck I'd take another year of Matt Moore than Farve. At least Moore acts like a professional

Would Farve be bringing his masseuses?

Farce did nothing but disrupt the Vikings lockerroom his last year there. Don't do this to our new coach.

Farve I mean...damn iphone

I would take a 42 y/o Brett before I would take any starter on the Panthers in the last 10 years. He will be better at 50 than Jake ever was. And to the people who comment on his circus that seems to follow him, would you not rather have that and a winning record or more of the same old from Richardson and company? I'll take a winner every time.

Cell phones would need to be banned from the clubhouse.

If we picked up Farve, he'd do good enough to make sure we didnt get the #1 pick next year, but not sure he'd do anything beyond that.

WHO???

Really!! At 50?? Jake did make the Pro Bowl (yes, I know he was an alternate that made it because of injury, but he was there).

You can't blame Fox's offensive offense on just the QB. This is a team sport!

That explains why his penis was at the bobcats game.

He should have been signed after the Jets cut him. We have never had a REAL qb.

I think Farve should sext his junk pictures to Jenny Clausen....she might like it!
