Panthers wrap up draft with Auburn OT

The Panthers wrapped up their draft by taking Auburn offensive tackle Lee Ziemba of Auburn.

Ziemba, a 6-5, 318-pounder, started 52 consecutive games for the Tigers, a school record.

Zembia, of course, played with Panthers first-round draft choice Cam Newton last season when Auburn won the national championship.

Fingers crossed, but I'm less impressed on the surface than usual with this whole draft.

It's a seventh round draft choice. None of you know who this is don't lie and pretend you do. They're aren't even hardly any scouting reports on him. So there should be literally nothing to say here.

Wow, fred, you ARE CLEVER! It seems like you had that one cocked, loaded, and FREDY to go.

At least he'll be the player with the coolest last name

I saw a lot of Ziemba watching AU football last year. He is an ecellent pick for this late in the draft. He is well spoken and a great team player. He is much like a Jordan Gross- however obviously not on that skill level yet. Just like Gross, he did have a few troubles with penalties....

The Panthers took this guy hoping he'll help Cam learn the playbook. Familiar faces together in new places. Might be a good call.

I am excited about the panthers again. It has been a long time.

War Eagle is on the money here. The Panthers are already protecting Cam which is what they should do. Any young man with the weight of the franchise on his shoulders needs all the support he can get his first year. Plus we know Ziemba is durable with the school record in starts.

Wow what a steal! This guy was awesome at Auburn! We have a true winner I can bet you that. Look this guy up and you'll be impressed.

Ziemba was almost the last pick of the draft despite his accolades - let's not get our hopes up here... Plus he was playing golf while the draft was taking place - he sure wasn't waiting for that call to come....

For the people out there who didn't follow Auburn, it's pronounced "ZEM-ba." Silent I. It is a cool name, though.

Ziemba was an All-American this past year, so he can definitely play, in addition to being huge. He was projected by a lot of draft pundits as a 3rd or 4th rounder, so in the 7th round, I'd consider him a steal.

Go Panthers and War Eagle.
