We are in deep do-do! No cornerbacks, no defensive tackles, big holes on the right side of the OL, a struggling rookie at QB who will be the starter come hell or high water, new coaches and new systems on both sides of the ball. We are definately in a rebuilding mode and it's going to be a long season!

Great summation SC ken, so let's all agree not to go crazy out, and hope for some pleasant surprises along the way. We all know how Fox would handle this, let's see if Rivera can rise to the occasion with at least one season to sort this out his way.

Said it before, will say it again.

The Panthers will have more pick-sixes than wins this year.

Where are the links to articles about how terrible GM Marty Hurney has done with this team?
Just once I would love to see a reporter have the nut sack to call out Marty Hurney for this pathetic group of players assembled on the field. The local media is running out of people to blame this debacle on. Won't be long before they turn on Rivera. Hurney was a sports writer so all sports writers give him a free pass and will never call him out for anything. It's truly pathetic and gutless. Hurney is a huge reason this team is so bad.

You're right about that Ted. I've read Fox being blamed for not breaking in rookie draft picks, for them not progressing into starters. Fox claimed when they wouldn't progress like Colbert, Jarrett, Shelton etc...that it was on the player, that they weren't NFL quality. Marty Hurney and Jerry Richardson, along with the CO blamed Fox and his staff, but I think it was more Marty not being good at selecting players.

Fox's Broncos have looked pretty good in preseason, better that the Panthers have looked. I think the Broncos will be better than the Panthers in regular season too.

The Broncos were better than the Panthers last season, so who cares? Denver also had a massive rash of injuries on their defense, and really defense and running back was their biggest problem. So two things Fox can coach well, defense, and running back. It shouldn't be a surprise that Denver looks a little bit improved. But it's preseason, who cares.

As for Hurney, I think we give him one more year. You all love pointing out our second round busts, but never our first round hits (At least Gamble was a hit for a good 6 years). Compare Hurney's draft record with almost every other GM and you will see he does well.

Hurney chose DW, Stew, CJ, Gross, Kalil, Davis, and Beason and a lot more. His last two drafts have not looked good (not counting this season which is WAYYYY too early to tell), but it is still early and we all know the coaching was lackluster for those players. Am I saying he will be vindicated for those drafts? No, i don't think they will end up being any good. But if you really want to blame Hurney for all of the Panthers woes I don't think you are right. The coaching has sucked (too early to tell on Rivera) and things haven't bounced our way.

Also, we already knew we were going to suck this season. We were 2-14 last year! If you really thought we would suddenly shoot to .500 or better you were way under estimating how hard a turnaround that quick can be.

If we end up 2-14 with the worst offense in the NFL, or an even worse defense, then we can be upset. Other than that you have to give it 2 more years to judge anything.

Fire marty Hurney! Past 3 years have been nothing but wasted picks.

For what it's worth, Cam hasn't turned the ball over yet. I'd take that over Jimmy any day.

Cam hasn't turned the ball over because he throws it where nobody at all can catch it.

All you natysayers, if you don't like it, don't watch? I'm sure you can find some choirs around the house this winter to do.

Cam is doing what he can! The offensive line is no help at all! So called all pros on there ain't doing nothing. Time to get Jordan Gross go, tired of seeing him get beat.
