You dont have a have an exceptionally strong arm in the NFL if you are deadly accurate. Clearly Newton not only has a weak arm but is not even close to accuracy espec when you have 6'8" DEs bearing down with their arms up to block passes not to mention crushing middle LBs and blitzing DBs. College success quickly fades espec for QBs.

And dont even think a larger QB would be running against any NFL defense without risk of injury or that quicker DBs and CBs wont pick you with ease sprinting for easy TDs if you are not pinpoint accurate. Vick was the only exception because he was small and could turn a corner or get out of bounds or slide but even then his success running was minimal.

Newton is not even close to required NFL accuracy and def will not run. His only chance is conversion to TE or WR. JR needs to sign either of the 2 top vet QBs avail in their late 20s & early 30s & everybody knows who they are before its too late or risk a winless season.
Teach Newton how to block & run routes or trade him. He could be a combo WR or TE. SS is perm injured and career over.

@Real Deal: One of the more ignorant post Ive read on here. Starting with "Clearly Newton not only has a weak arm.." What are you talking about? And you said Vick had minimal success running. Do you even watch the NFL?

Posted by: shane | Aug 2, 2011 9:47:33 AM

Shane you a fool. I watch NFL all the time. I fly around to all the NFL camps to get the inside scoop on whose who for my fantasy league.

Yesterday I was at niners camp. Today I at Bucs camp and tomorrow I going to Chargers camp. I go coast to coast for football. Dont see you at these camps doing that.

Enough said.

Just want to clear up a few things. First, yesterday someone posted under my screen name. They said "We should go after Drew Brees or Matt Lienart" in the Anderson article. Really..? Get your own handle and a grip on reality. Second, why is it when posting & only clicking once on post that the entry appears twice?

My feelings are hurt. Why the name calling?

@real deal, its a shame that so-called Panthers fans like yourself cannot come to grips with the fact that Cam Newton is the teams' heir at quarterback. If you do not like him fine, just say so, don't lie. Cam has a cannon for an arm, much stronger than Clausens' arm. He is also, bigger, stronger, faster and able to throw over the defensive line. He needs to work on his accuracy. This is more of a matter of getting experience at the pro level. His accuracy was higher than Clausen's or Pike's for college. Give him time.

CNewton as a tall WR is interesting espec with SSmith a non-factor for 3 yrs injured and re-injured. Time for him to go.
AEdwards was a short 5ft something QB at AppSt signed as a WR.

A 6 ft 4 in WR who can run is something the CPs have never had other than MMuhammed who was 6ft 2in.

I can think of one 6ft 4 in receiver they had. Donal Hayes. Who knows how many more they did have.

This young man is 6'4"

Panthers cut Dwayne Jarrett
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on October 5, 2010, 4:34 PM EDT
On the same day that receiver Dwayne Jarrett was arrested the 2nd time for driving while impaired, the Carolina Panthers have parted ways with the second-round pick from the 2007 draft.

Real Deal - I agree with the others who have replied to your comments. If you think Cam's arm is weak, you never saw him play at Auburn. And those defensive ends in his face in the SEC are the same ones that will be chasing him on Sunday in the NFL.

Posted by: smoke | Aug 2, 2011 2:33:40 PM

@realdeal, all i can say from your articles that you are a real idiot, but thanks for the laugh, the only flying you are doing is when you smoking those drugs you do..
