Panthers Add Felton, Release Balmer
The Panthers and defensive tackle Kentwan Balmer didn't last long together.
The team released the former North Carolina lineman today before their final preseason game against Pittsburgh. Balmer was added to the roster last week but did not play at Cincinnati.
Additionally, the Panthers picked up former Detroit Lions fullback Jerome Felton off waivers today. Felton, who played at Furman, could be seen as insurance for Tony Fiammetta who has been slowed by a concussion in training camp.
Four Panthers did not dress for the Pittsburgh game -- Fiammetta, cornerback Brandon Hogan, offensive guard Mackenzy Bernadeau and wide receiver Kealoha Pilares.
Garry Williams got the start on the offensive line in place of Bernadeau while Dan Connor started at middle linebacker, as expected, for Jon Beason.

According to steve reed as in why Balmer was release is due to not being in shape. But according to rotoworld.com, they are interested in signing Pat Williams.

Well we clearly lost Gary Williams for the season...

I told you people that Balmer would not last. He is fat and out of shape and has no work ethic. He learned that at UNC-CHEAT.

I hope he got enough tickets for the game, since he was concerned about that and his "UNC family" more than the Panthers.

Add Kendrick Burney to that list. I have never seen a "professional" athlete be picked on and USED like that dude. HOLY COW did he just get smacked around. Way to take a 20 step drop and still get punked!
