Dan Connor out vs. Lions

DETROIT

The Panthers' injury issues at linebacker just seem to keep getting worse.

Middle linebacker Dan Connor, who sustained a neck/shoulder stinger last week vs. Tennessee, is inactive for today's game at Detroit.

Jordan Senn is expected to start in Connor's place. He would become the eighth linebacker to start for the Panthers this season.

Carolina has three linebackers on injured reserve: Jon Beason, Thomas Davis and Thomas Williams.

The Panthers' other inactives today: QB Jimmy Clausen, CB Brandon Hogan, LB Jason Phillips, OT Lee Ziemba, TE Jeremy Shockey and DT Frank Kearse.

Shockey did not make the trip after injuring his ribs on the first offensive play last week vs. the Titans. Hogan, who started the season on the physically unable to perform list, had his surgically repaired knee flare up on his last week following two days of practice on the Panthers' artificial turf field.

Running back Jahvid Best (concussion) leads the list of Lions' inactives.

Maurice Morris, the 10-year veteran from Chester, S.C., is expected to start in Best's place.

The rest of the Detroit inactives: QB Drew Stanton, P Ryan Donahue, CB Aaron Berry, G Leonard Davis, DE Willie Young and DE Lawrence Jackson.
