Suh presents next big challenge for Panthers

After surrendering a season-high five sacks Sunday against Tennessee, the Panthers find themselves staring at Ndamukong Suh and the Detroit Lions next.

In just his second season, Suh has already established himself as one of the league's most dominant forces, leading a Lions' defensive line that creates plenty of problems.

"He's a force. You've got to find a way to make sure he doesn't take over a game," Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski said of Suh.

Though Suh gets the headlines, ends Cliff Avril (six) and Kyle Vanden Bosch (five) have more sacks than Suh (three). That makes it difficult to use more than one player to block Suh.

"The reality of it is you have to try at times (using one blocker) and try to help that guy whenever you can. That will be a key," Chudzinski said.

"A key of the game will be their whole front. I know they have Fairley back and he's playing pretty well from what I hear and Vandenbosch. It's going to be a heckuva challenge for us up front."

Lions can't stop the run or run the ball!

Lions are as bad as the Panthers. It shall be a battle of the knuckle-heads.

Panthers look like the Ducks or Auburn Tigers of last year when they line up in shotgun and hand off. Stewart gets lots of big runs that way. Why not at 34 to the backfield and confuse the D more?

Punch Stafford in the face and watch the picks for six come to you all day. They are all neck talkers and the Bears exposed that.

LOL, jc...Maurice Morris will put up triple digits on this defense, easy.

Darin Gantt could run for 150 on this defense right now.

If you thought Tennesse was dirty wait until Sunday. The Lions will be in the heads of the Panthers after the first quarter and this game will be over.

Looks like the offense is regressing every game, and is trying to get to the same level of ineptitude as the defense. I've been as optimistic as everyone else about this new coaching staff (they couldn't actually be worse than Fox and his stiffs), but really wondering if we are now in a prolonged pre-2011-Lions era. Prognosis is not good - defense is horrible, needing a major upgrade of talent, special-teams are pathetic (need to start all over there), and offense is Newton, Stewart, an aging Smith (and all his warts) and not much else of quality (a bunch of overpaid, overrated average players). Don't know how you can fix all that in a short time, even when looking at another very high draft position (potentially #2).

Panthers fans, the Lions are a dirty team. They'll be coming after Cam and taking cheap shot after cheap shot.

This will be a street fight.

Be proactive. Your D needs to hit Stafford in the throwing hand—-hard and repeatedly.

Go Panthers!

I think Newton will be on the run a lot this upcoming Sunday, but obviously that is where he can succeed.
