Panthers get a taste of Creamsicles at Tampa

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are going old school for the Panthers visit on Sunday.

The Bucs will wear their orange throwback uniforms, a nod to the early days of a franchise that struggled to find its footing before eventually winning a Super Bowl in less garish uniforms.

Local fans won't get to see the throwbacks because the game is expected to be blacked out in the Tampa area because it's not a sellout. Still, they may see the glow emanating from Raymond James Stadium when the Bucs wear what have been called their 'Creamsicle' uniforms.

The Panthers, on the other hand, don't have throwback uniforms. They're still wearing the ones they've been wearing since the start 17 years ago.

Bucs will kill the Panthers. Hopefully Freeman plays even with a hurt shoulder. Bucs may be willing the break the rule and go hard after Scam Newton but that remains to be seen since he is being treated with kid gloves so far.

Ace Juniper - this is a PANTHERS BLOG, you knucklehead. If you are coming to a PANTHERS BLOG looking for ACC or UNC-CH coverage, you have issues.

And why are you worried? This paper, also properly known as the Charlotte Tar Heel since they have a standing requirement that at least 75% of the sports department must be UNC-CH grads, will have at least 10 pages on the UNC-CH/Kentucky game on Sunday.

RG Jr. - The Panthers may not have throwback uniforms, but that should change. That butt-ugly combo of silver pants and sky-blue jerseys needs to be thrown back. Yesterday.

Yo dead waterboy, we understand why you are dead, what we are wondering is why you are still so damn dumb you cowpile lover.

No info on Josh Freeman practice, but we know what uniforms they will wear. Freeman said he injured his shoulder shooting a shotgun. You'd think the CO guys would be all over that story.

Yes, guys, this is a Panthers BLOG and there is news about Freeman's status, there are game previews, there are player profiles all over this website and the CO sports page.
Don't look to the guys covering the Panthers day in and day out to be writing about the Tar Heels basketball team in December!
