Rivera not concerned about Panthers' draft position

Panthers coach Ron Rivera smiled when he was asked the question Tuesday afternoon.

What does he think when he hears fans saying that by winning late-season games, the Panthers are hurting their chances for another very high draft pick. With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Panthers have more wins than five teams will likely have a draft choice between sixth and 10th.

   That's fine with Rivera.

"I think there's enough good football players that you don't have to worry about where you finish in the draft. The best part is we don't have to worry about the quarterback position. There are going to be some good quarterbacks coming out in the draft but believe me, I'm more than happy with our guy."

Any real fan that understands football would rather see wins than higher draft picks.

Foxy and crew showed us how to get the top seed in the NFL draft. BAMF is no Foxy.

I'll admit, I'm a fan that really wants to see the best draft pick, but I couldn't stomach losing to the Bucs, and would love to knock the Saints down a place to make them a lower seed.

That said, that Dre kid at CB form Alabama could really help us out a lot, and a high 2nd round lineman that is starting material should be available.

I think LaFell and Gettis could still be legit 2nd option receivers, and I'd rather see trying to sign a veteran to a 1-2 year deal than draft someone, unless the propotypical (think AJ Green or Megatron) type receiver was still available at the Panther's first round pick.

we have so many holes it doesn't matter what position we draft.

Any chance of tricking another team into taking Gross for a good defensive player and then drafting Ryan Kalil's brother for the offensive line?
Philadelphia has an excess of defensive backs.
Then all the rest of the picks should be for defensive players.

A big, fast CB or an LB that can play Will or Sam, and if needed Mike would be a good start. We don't need another rookie DT unless he's as good as Suh (sans the attitude). Go CB or LB!!

Why worry about the draft when you can sign free agents who you know can play!

Bucs wont be playing their reserve scrubs this week as brain damaged Riveras draft pick couldnt cut the muster ending with 100 yds less passing than even the third string qb for Houston.

The union has officially pulled the plug on their poster boy who for 13 games was allowed free gifts to take his losers to a highly successful 5-11 in their eyes.
Bucs will take revenge and of course the Saints will destroy again in the last L.

Newton has proven mediocre at best without union help and def not a leader. He is obv nothing compared to his former mentor Tebow. Bucs Freeman set to rip the housepet on Sunday.

Bucs by 3 tds

5-11

ps. RR needs to stay on the meds to control the diagnosed "boxers syndrone". It only gets worse.

take the best player available in the draft.

don't move up and take an armanti when no one else wants him. we've done rather poorly in the draft lately. hopefully that changes.

The fact that we don't need a QB does help push what we do need further down the draft for the first pick. We need speed. A DB that can scare teams on punt returns and stop recievers from catching wide open passes on third down would be awesome!

YO RIVERA, NEWTON IS A PIECE OF STINK

Tebow Will Dominate - Who in the hell is this guy? What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this post is now dumber for having read it. I have an idea, how about you go play with your dolls and leave the football discussion up to people who actually watch it.

Lots of internet tough guys on here today...funny they all have the apparent intellect of a 5 year-old. Why would you think anyone on these boards cares what YOU have to say? Yes tony, I'm talking to you. Some one should beat the f@#k out of someone who comes on here and gives their positive opinion, yet you are allowed to spew your retarded hate and the same shouldn't happen to you? Imbecile...

Posted by: Ron Rivera | Dec 21, 2011 1:10:11 PM

Tony, and whoever is posting as Tebow Will Dominate... if anybody is on meds, it's likely you! My dog knows more about pro football than you have managed to communicate in your posts. There, I've already given you way more time than your moronic diatribes are worth.

C.O, why don't you just kick these guys off the boards for continual violation of site policy? We're trying to have an intelligent conversation here and nobody needs the landfill language and attitude!
