WR Naanee out; Saints' gametime still not set

The Panthers already long injury list got longer today when head coach Ron Rivera announced that wide receiver Legedu Naanee will miss the season finale Sunday at New Orleans due to broken bone in his foot.

Naanee apparently reinjured his foot when it got stuck after he made a catch near the Tampa Bay goal line on Saturday. Because it's the final week of the season, Rivera said he did not anticipate Naanee being placed on the injured reserve list.

Without Naanee, it will likely mean more playing time for Seyi Ajirotutu, Armanti Edwards, Kealoha Pilares and Darvin Adams.

In other injury news, defensive tackle Andre Neblett suffered a concussion against Tampa Bay and will be evaluated through the week as will safety Jordan Pugh, who was a late scratch against the Bucs due to a concussion.

Defensive end Charles Johnson is expected to be limited at practice this week due to overall soreness while safety Charles Godfrey's troublesome shoulder continues to improve.

FLEX UPDATE: The starting time for the Panthers game at New Orleans Sunday remains undetermined.

Should the Saints beat Atlanta tonight, the kickoff will remain at 1 p.m. EST. If the Falcons win, the kickoff will be shifted to 4:15 p.m.

I've wanting to see Pilares as the #3 WR for sometime now. He looks like an explosive WR.

whats the deal with the time?

DL, it's part of the NFL flex schedule. If the game has no playoff implications they will shift it out of prime time.

It's currently at 1:00 pm, and if there are playoff implications, it will be shifted TO 4:15 pm.

I'm with DL, the game wasn't in prime time to begin with I'm obviously wrong but I thought the only shifts would be moving a game into or out of NBC's prime time schedule.

I see us playing slot of "primetime" games next year! Dallas & Denver game for sure! Maybe Philly game will be a Monday night game!

A lot.... Sorry

Glad to hear Neblett is going to be OK. I think we found a reliable DT with him that is still young and can shed off blockers and penetrate the o-line.
