Contract details for Haruki Nakamura
Just saw the contract numbers for new Panthers safety Haruki Nakamura, who signed with Carolina on Friday after four seasons backing up Ed Reed in Baltimore.
It's a pretty straightforward, 3-year deal worth $4.8 million, which includes a $1 million signing bonus.
Nakamura, expected to compete with Sherrod Martin for the free safety spot as well contribute to special teams, has a $700,000 base salary in 2012 with a cap figure of $1.03 million.
His base jumps to $1.3 million in 2013 and $1.8 million in 2014, with an escalator that could increase his 2014 base by $700,000 if he hits certain playing time and/or performance criteria.

How did we get a free agent that was not a Charger?

I don't appreciate that passive aggressive comment.
