Coolest element of Carolina Panthers' new uniforms might be the message in collar
The NFL released the new uniforms for all 32 teams today, and as expected the Panthers only tweaked their look. Perhaps the coolest thing about them is something you won't see: The message inside the collar.
The "Keep Pounding" message is a nod to former linebackers Sam Mills and Mark Fields, who used the phrase to spearhead a Carolinas HealthCare Foundation's Keep Pounding Fund, established in 2004 to benefit local cancer research.
Both men were diagnosed with cancer in 2003, when Mills was a coach and Fields was a player; Mills died in 2005.
The Panthers tweeted the picture earlier today.

I love that they included a tribute to Sam Mills, but overall I was very disappointed about the Nike roll out. Sure, the technology of the uniforms got better, but that has no effect on the fans. I like the Panthers jerseys, but they're outdated. With a new logo they couldn't made some cool changes. Turned out to be a major letdown to me.
PS - I really don't like the Seahawks new unis.

Yet, we waited all this time for THIS?
Big Freaking Deal! Nike didn't change anything. We're not switching to Carolina Blue, we're not updating the style of the pants, and there's no major change in the jerseys.
Yeah, except for the Swoosh...again, wasted hype! Here's a precursor to the 2012 Carolina Panthers season; let's get really excited...just to get let down in dramatic fashion.

i really like the jerseys as they are, however, i think the new logo is weak - it's like a stencil of the old one. looks kinda cheap, too.
hopefully they won't ever make the helmets black, that would kill our guys in the heat.

I'm upset that it appears that the Panthers did not incorporate any of the new technologies that Nike has introduced (the Nike Store does not list any of the updates under the Panthers Elite Pro Uniform). If the new technologies help the players, why would you want to be at a disadvantage?

Nike got PAAAIIIDDD...To do what again?

What an utter failure on the Panthers part. We have a star QB and a chance to start a new tradition and era, and come out rockin' the same beat uniforms with a new logo slapped on it! Horrible! Heck, most of the teams at least went with the new neckline, but Old Jerry's stubborn butt wouldn't budge. What a disappointment. Oh well.

I don't mind our black uni's with silver pants but unfortunately we wear the whites about 60% of the time and they have gotten old to me. Also I thought we were gonna have a new helmet? I read an article where Jerry Richardson confirmed they were making some big changes to the helmet but it's just the same one with the new logo. Whats up with that?

Why did every team incorporate the new neckline technology into their jerseys except us? We get stuck with the same dated one. I thought these were designed to give players an advantage? Guess we won't have that advantage.

Here's the link describing the new neckline that every other team is now using except us. Brilliant!

Carolina is not the only team with the old neck line. fist thing i think when i see the new neck line is a easier place to get held. Carolina never said there would be changes so why is there so much disapointment. Richardson is a old fashion guy. As long as they win a superbowl i could careless what they wear

Wow, some people just can't be satisfied..........

I mean, I know it is not that big of a deal, but come on Richardson. Why do you have to be an old stick in the mud? Jeez, it's like they take a step forward with Cam, then take a step back staying with these old, out dated uniforms. Fans have been screaming for those plain white jerseys to be replaced for years now!

Putting Keep Pounding on the collar is awesome but it should be on the outside of the collar where people can see it.
Our "new" old uniform is a fail. It's not like we've won a lot of games in those uni's. We're talking about only 4 winning seasons here. New typeface, new logo, new era demands a uniform change. This team is more exciting now than it's ever been. Why kill the excitement with tired ole threads? This is another fail for the Panthers front office.

rofllmfao--I'm just guessing, and it's only a guess, you won't enjoy Hell that much when you get there.

Purchase a pedometer to help you see how many steps you achieve each day

Yuk. Serious teams with heritage like Green bay, Pittsburgh, and those out of NY do NOT change logos. The Giants and the Jets aren't particularly "hip", but the teams win. What happened to our logo being a nod to BOTH Carolinas? Look what happened to the Hurricanes after they started messing with colors and stuff . . .

I believe if the Panthers knew Mark fields created that saying from having to keep pounding on bitches heads they would not have that in their Jersey...
