Video: Fowler on Luke Kuechly's potential

Can Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly, the Carolina Panthers' pick at No. 9 in the NFL draft, have instant impact on the team's leaky defense? Scott Fowler discusses that and more with Cinesport's Noah Coslov:

Awsome pick!!
Only please draft a CB, DT and P in this order.

Rounds 6 and 7; add some depth for OL, FB and maybe KR/PR and DE.

Honestly, I'm fine with our current DE roster: Johnson, Hardy, Applewhite, Keiser, Tucker, and why not Norwood.

Pretty fair assessment of the pick around the 2 minute market...

How is that a fair assessment? We have ron edwards, 2 3rd round picks from last year and other misc. Parts at DT.

We have beason but beason can play outside just as effectively. He's also coming off an injury. We also lack a third starting LB as nobody is counting on davis being what he used to be. It's as if nobody remembers beason playing outside linebacker in college, early on, and in 2010 when davis was out again.

Great pick. Upgraded from conner while probably costing about the same more or less. With blackmon and claiborne off the board, this was the pick. You could make a case for poe or brockers, but those guys aren't warren sapp or ndamakung or kris jenkins.

Haters are going to hate. Some silly Saints fan came here and started to troll a Panthers blog. Like really? We all know Newton is great QB, so to say he is a TE is stupid. However, trolls will troll. Anyways on to the pick. I don't know how people can say this wasn't a good pick-up. Maybe this wasn't the most obvious need, but like they say need is the worst evaluator. You don't draft on need, you draft based on the best player available. Obviously, the Panthers thought he was the best player available. As far as how he will be used. I think we will use the 3-4 defense at times. Maybe convert totally if we get a NT. If Beason goes down obviously Kuekly subs in. If Davis or Anderson goes down due to injury or maybe a cut or trade I think Kuekly will move to the OLB spot. He has said that he can play all LB spots. I really do like this pick. The Panthers know what they are doing. Maybe we get a DT or TE in the 2nd round. And who knows maybe even a WR. We shall see tonight.
