Cam Newton goes to Washington

A week after Eli Manning and the Super Bowl-champion Giants visited the White House, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was on Capitol Hill on Thursday meeting with North Carolina Senator Kay Hagan about youth mentoring and educational programs.

Newton is one of 20 NFL players who went to D.C. for a United Way summit aimed at reducing the high school dropout rate. Newton accompanied a group of students from Thomasboro Academy in Charlotte to Capitol Hill.

Newton, showing off the Panthers' new Nike jersey in the photo with Hagan below, has said he plans to make youth initiatives the major focus of his charitable foundation.

Glad we have one of the QBs in the NFL now and plus he seeks to be an excellent role model for us young people!

Wow! Some of you all are angry. I guess you have to let your feelings out over the internet. You all are defined not by yourselves, but everyone else!

Go Panthers and CAM!

To the poster of the last two comments - you obviously have serious mental and emotional issues to even think what you've posted is true. Cam was not convicted of anything yet you and the real POS's who post ridiculous comments on here to get a rise out of yourself and others still continue to warp the truth in the obscene fashion that you do .....Get your head out of your @SS and flush your own stupid personal ill concieved agendas, hatred, and ignorance down the toilet because fools like you are the real B.S. of the state of NC

I must say while I really enjoy reading the rantIngs of the Cam-Newton-hating lunatics on here, I wanted to let them know that they are imbecilic fools who really should try to spend some quality time on the grounds of the asylum they live in. It really isn't a bad place to live for those who are a danger to themselves and others.

It says he was found with the lap-top. Then there seems to be about 3 different versions of the incident. And I guess a black kid with a stolen lap-top automatically means he stole it but if the white kid had the same stolen lap-top, he's given the benefit of the doubt. Welcome to a society that claims it's not racist.

Anyway, I find those who like to act all self-righteous are the biggest hypocrits alive.

I'm guessing that "Newton the Cheat Role Model," "Complete Mockery Of Education" and "panthers are sleaze" are all the same person. Good to see you again Harvey. Did the judge let you have some time to yourself while your lawyer is arguing to get your case moved further away from Auburn? You're still going to be found guilty, since you were the one dumb enough to call Finebaum and confess that you poisoned the trees. How long you get put away depends on how many 'Bama grads get set on your jury. Best of luck to you.

the idiots on here can't sleep thinking about newton and all the good things they say about him now, maybe this kid is maturing, unlike some of the nfl felons in the league now..

And Cam no, you still can't have some of my water! Was wondering if that was Cam I saw on my run who asked me for some water on Thursday.

This is for all the haters and assorted low lifes out there, you are everything that is wrong with this society....Please keep your backward, bigoted and hateful comments to yourself and your uneducated ilk. Cam Newton has done everything right since entering the NFL, both on and off the field. I can only imagine what your story is...go back to your cave.

I took a moment to read over the comments being made on here, and it is so crazy to see grown men and women acting like two year old kids. Cam is not perfect, but some of the people on here want to act as if they have never done anthing wrong in their lives. And believe me I'm not saying that he did what many are accusing him of. But whatever the hang up is about a young kid bring some hope into the carolinas should over shadow some of the "fools talk" going on, on this site. It sad that the state in which I live still has such division.
