Offseason has been 'very productive' for Newton

Cam Newton said Thursday after practice that his offsesaon has been "very productive," but he's not ready to give out any grades just yet.

In his wait-and-see approach, the quarterback repeated only so much can be gleaned from training camp practices, and that the team's first true test will be Saturday in the Panthers' first preseason game versus Houston.

He also talked about what he's been working on this offseason to improve on a season that saw him earn the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award and pass for more than 4,000 yards.

"There’s not one particular thing I feel I’m struggling with the most, but there are a lot of holes in my game I feel like, especially going back and looking at the film from last year," Newton said. "There are a lot of things that were unacceptable and can’t continue to happen unless I make a stand and change it."

Newton went on to say he particularly wants to work on his ball placement and cut down on turnovers. He passed for 21 touchdowns and threw 17 interceptions last season.

Go Panthers!!! As fans, we need to show more support and faith at games. That means buy tickets, and don't allow opposing fans to dominate our stadium. When our defense is on the field be LOUD, not just on third downs (be loud every damn down), and for the love of god shut up when our offense is on the field. Don't leave the game early if our team is down, because they might make a comeback and could use our help by making noise. You paid for the ticket, might as well enjoy the entire game. As fans, lets do our part to support the team 100%. GO PANTHERS!!!!!!!

TECHNICALLY, Cam Newton is the best QB in the league. Just like TECHNICALLY, Russell Westbrook is the best PG in the league. Who can run like Cam? Nobody. Who can explode like Westbrook? Nobody.
