Stewart sits with soreness, will travel to Tampa Bay with team
Jonathan Stewart sat out of practice again on Tuesday as he continues to rehabilitate his sprained right ankle.
Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said after practice that Stewart had a big workout on Monday and was experiencing a little more soreness than expected. He said Stewart will travel to Florida with the team today as they prepare for Sunday's contest vs. the Buccaneers.
The team will re-evaluate him Wednesday morning, and Rivera said he's being more cautious with him because of the solid depth at running back the team has.
Stewart has not participated in practice or in a game since Aug. 26 when he injured it late in the second quarter against the New York Jets.
Center Jeff Byers suffered an MCL sprain in the third quarter of the Pittsburgh Steelers game. He refused to come out of the game. Rivera had take the day off to rest the knee, but praised the backup for his toughness.

I sure hope Byers sticks....he was as good as Kalil in college.
Is Campbell going to replace Bell or is Bell going to continue to start no matter how badly he plays (a la Nannee)????

Hey big gulps, that was confusing wasn't it? And Big Ron..."HUH?"
Only real comment, let Stewart keep resting it...no need to hurry, not against th Bucs.

Big Ron, Do you read the garbage you write. You sound like a child. Do you really believe RR is going to keep the better player on the bench? I believe if Campbell was better than Bell. He would be starting at RT. Maybe soon but right now he is NOT. OOOORRR MAYBE they want him to focus on LT in case JG goes down. Whatcha think?

Bell had 11 accepted penalties last year and a whole bunch of whiffs. Campbell looked really good in the preseason games. Rivera seems to have favorites who he plays no matter what. I am hoping he realizes Bell is as bad as he is and replaces him with Campbell.

Bell was a rookie LT that was still learning the game with no training camp. Let's see how he does this season before passing judgement on him. At least with him there is potential unlike we had with Wharton.
