Ziemba suspended 4 games for violating PED policy
Panthers offensive lineman Lee Ziemba has been suspended for four games after testing positive for a banned stimulant, Ziemba said Saturday in a statement released by his agent.
Ziemba, who is on injured reserve following surgery in August, said he never knowingly ingested a performance-enhancing substance. But Ziemba has decided not to appeal the suspension, and will begin serving it immediately.
Ziemba will forfeit $116,250 – a fourth of his salary – while serving the suspension.
Ziemba, the Panthers' seventh-round pick in 2011 from Auburn, did not identify the substance in his statement. Attempts to reach him for further comment were unsuccessful.
In his statement, Ziemba said he learned of the positive test in mid-September, about a month after tearing his lateral meniscus in training camp.
“I was extremely confused and upset when I was informed of this result since I have never knowingly ingested any performance-enhancing substance,” Ziemba said. “My training regimen has included supplements that I carefully chose and believed to be free from any prohibited substance under the NFL/NFLPA policies.
“After extensive discussions and careful consideration of the terms of the NFL/NFLPA policies, I have chosen to be immediately accountable for the situation.”
Ziemba is the second Panthers' player to violate the league's PED policy this year. Defensive tackle Andre Neblett tested positive during the offseason and was suspended for the first four games of the season.

We are almost to the halfway mark. I sure hope we are ready for what await us. It was getting a little disappointing week after week. I have faith we will hang in there and pull the rest of the season thorugh. The guys have got to do like I say with these little injuries, go to the dollar store, get some red alcohol, Ebsom Salt and some Thera-Gesic Cream, come on young men, shake it off. I want to see how we distribute the ball this weekend. This is not a two man show(Cam/Steve)Where is the DEFENSE? Protection from the OFENSE. Lets go PANTHERS, we can win at least 5 - 6 more games.

why does this keep happening????can it not be clear on what is allowed and what not is allowed???? I may not be a smart man, but if I know what I can't do, then i won't do it, unless, I am an idiot....which is what this individual seems to be

Unfortunately, supplements are not regulated by the FDA and don't always have all the ingredients listed accurately

Had the same injury a few years ago and it isn't something you"shake off". "Salts and thera-gesic" won't fix this only surgery can. Don't care how tough you think you are big boy...Being a pro athlete he was doing everything available to heal and get back on the field.

Ziemba used the same lame excuse J. Peppers and virtually every pro football player caught taking PEDs.....supplements.
BS, BS, BS.

ROFLMFAO ... What a complete joke the entire organization has become and laughing stock of 32 teams wallowing in its own self created misery and sorrow. The worst NFL dump franchise in history.
Give GM Hurney the axe but keep worse problems TE Newton and DC Rivera among others? Who the hell is running the show besides the Disturber minion Slop worshiping idiots? NFC union help gone? 50% less production in 2012? Go fig.
How much longer will the bigoted NFL hold down TNT from taking his place as the alltime top QB FB locomotive killer future winner of 6 Super Bowls?
Is the NFL afraid of more future injuries class actions? No LB or D can withstand the massive brutal assault of a QB FB combo at 6'5" 260 benching 650, squats 750, cleans 600 impeccable who had 100 TDs, 10k passing and 15k AP yards as a Gator but held down in the pros over religion? Un fucking real.
Richardson would pay a billion to get the Leader Field General monster T-Rex Tebow but being held back by the NFL brass in NYC trying hold him down and back from his development due the religous xian bigotry.
STOP NFL RELIGIOUS XIAN BIGOTRY
Write the NFL in NYC to stop discriminating against Tebow's 1st Amendment Rights.
Chicago Bear Ditka who was Riveras coach winning a Super Bowl says TNT is the greatest and a world class REAL LEADER.
