RB Jonathan Stewart 'very doubtful' for Sunday's game vs. Chiefs

Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said running back Jonathan Stewart is "very doubtful" for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

"He’s very sore and didn’t do a lot of moving around today," Rivera said. "We’ll see again tomorrow and probably make the decision sometime tomorrow."

Stewart suffered a high left ankle sprain against the Eagles in the second quarter of Monday night's game and did not return. When Stewart sprained his right ankle in the preseason, Rivera referred to Stewart as "very doubtful." He said that term would apply to Stewart for Sunday's game.

In the liklihood that he won't be able to go, former starter DeAngelo Williams will get the nod for the first time since Week 5 against Seattle.

Also doubtful for the Panthers is DE Antwan Applewhite (hamstring). Captain Munnerlyn (hamstring) did not practice Friday and is listed as questionable. He had not participated all week and gave it a go Friday before his hamstring got sore early and the staff sat him.

Cam Newton (right wrist) is probable and has participated fully in practice all week. He injured his wrist when he tried to break his fall after getting knocked down on a screen pass against the Eagles on Monday.

Well, there goes the running game. The Panthers will be VERY one dimensional now. DWill just cannot get the job done by himself anymore.

This guy is always hurt...he is the one we should trade

Bull, Stewart has more trade value because of his age, but if you look at how many games are missed by either player, 34 misses waaaaay more games.
