Greg Hardy: Panthers a better team than Atlanta

The Falcons (11-1) have clinched the NFC South title with a month left in the season. The Panthers (3-9) are within a game of owning the NFL's worst record.

Yet, Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy believes Carolina has the better team. Not just during the Panthers' Week 4 loss at Atlanta, when the Falcons pulled out a last-second, 30-28 victory.

But overall, as well.

There's a point where you know you're better than someone. We just didn't pull it out,” Hardy said Wednesday.

Hardy went on to say he was “not a fan of the team down the street,” adding he would take delight in spoiling the Falcons' goal of earning home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

I'm trying to mess up their whole playoff experience. I want them to go home sick in the stomach, mad about life, a couple depression issues, all types of things,” Hardy said. “It's going to be a long day from my point of view. I'm coming.”

Several Carolina players also talked about the post-game comment by Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan after Matt Bryant's game-winning field goal. The Fox cameras caught Ryan saying: “Get the (expletive) off our field!”

Defensive end Charles Johnson said the Panthers heard Ryan's comment on a highlight show on the team bus in route to the Atlanta airport after the game.

I think we marked this day down since (then),” Johnson said. “He had all due respect to say that. Hey, you got to come in our house now.”

It seems he is sniffing the same glue as Kahlil.

As much as I want that to be true, it's not. Hardy needs to look at the teams records. Though, I wouldn't be offended if the Panthers win and Matt Ryan gets pancaked a few times on Sunday.

I will be thrilled to see Matty Freeze get pummelled by our D, but I will be even more pleased when he, inevitably, melts down and has to get the F off his field with another playoff loss. The guy shouldnt run his mouth when he cant win big games.

Now, we're cooking. We're getting a division rivalry going.

Haha! Hardy, shut up and play ball dude. Lets hear your talk on the field. Where were you last week when Brady Quinn carved our defense up? You couldn't get to him, but you think you're going to get to Matt Ryan?

Has Hardy been drug tested?

Posted by: rcncman | Dec 5, 2012 4:37:56 PM

This is what I'm talking about. The Falcons need to be our hated rival, but we need to start beating them first. They've owned us for years. Let's show up on Sunday!

Whatever Hardy and Kalil have been eating, don't let them have any more of it.

Posted by: rcncman | Dec 5, 2012 4:41:21 PM

Sure. Apparently Hardy keeps score differently from everyone else. Or maybe he was making a prediction about next season.

He also said Taco Bell is better than Chipotle, Leno is better than Carson and Limp Bizkit is better than Metallica.

He dummy it is not golf, you want to be the team with the higher score.

With nothing at stake other than embarrassing them to no end, I look for the Panthers to take this NFC clash to prove a point. The last game was a fluke win by them. Before the game Sunday, just play the youtube clip of Matt Ryan in the final seconds of their win over us, mouthing "get the F off my field". Make him pay for that guys.

Atlanta IS the rival game for us! Go Hardy & Johnson. However, I'm still going to take my Gatorade towel to hide under at the game! LOL - seriously, GO PANTHERS!

This is so laughable, it's embarrassing. Maybe if the Falcons were not allowed to field their first or second string players, the Panthers might be able to keep it close playing against the third-string team. Of course, they'd still lose in the last minute. Don't know what's in the Kool-Aid that Hardy's drinking, but it can't be anything legal.

I think the writer has taken some liberties here with an innocent comment regarding how we gave away the game at Atlanta. During the course of that one game it did appear that Carolina had the better team on that day and even Atlanta fans would have to admit we gave away that game to the Falcons ....

Ummm that was not needed....you guys are going to be watching the playoffs again...you are not better

As a Falcons fan, Hardy's comments amuse me to no end. That said, the Panthers have under-performed this season. This is no rivalry for Falcons fans. Our rival is the Aints and always has been, but it is cool to see some folks get fired up. I am driving up Sunday... Where will the best tailgates be?

OK Hardy is indeed crazy! It has now been confirmed!!! A team that's 3-9 and cant close out games is saying its better then a team that has only lost 1 game all season????? Yeah ok, Hardy I hope you readying the comments b/c you sound like a fool!!!!

Posted by: Big Daddy | Dec 5, 2012 6:47:40 PM

This dude Hardy is crazy. I guess he just glossed over the fact that they loss to Brady Quinn & KC last week to give them their SECOND win of tha season. When your team has a worse record than the Cleveland Browns, u don't have much room to talk

Ryan needs to keep his mouth shut until he actually accomplishes something. He has won as many playoff games as Cam Newton.

Posted by: james reed | Dec 5, 2012 7:33:19 PM

You guys are stupid if you think the Panthers can't beat the Birty Turds. How many games have the Panthers lost by a couple of points? Almost all of them!! So with some incentive, such as Ratty Myce's dickesh comment after the game in Hotlanda... It could happen. I'm not slappin down any of my cash; But-it-could-happen!!

Posted by: NaldoNervana | Dec 5, 2012 7:36:01 PM

This is an overreaction by the Panthers, but they do have a drama queen at quarterback. Matt Ryan has shown nothing but class since he has been in the league. He does not pose when he makes a play he makes a big play, he just keeps winning, his post season success is coming. Check the character of your players: #89, # 1 both trouble makers!!! Sounds like Scam Newton made some friends at the pro bowl last year.

Sorry Panther fans but maybe in another life time...We are going to act like its a practice game against your sorry team...LMBO..Go Falcons...Rise Up!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by: FalconFan | Dec 5, 2012 9:24:35 PM

That is literally the dumbest comment I have heard uttered from any mouth in the NFL all season long. Hardy needs a meth test. Panthers are a joke.

"Marked this day down"

As what? The day the Falcons pick up where they left off in the 4th quarter?

3 wins. 9 losses. Shut your mouths
