Olsen, Gross hosting charity events

It will be a busy weekend in the draft room at Bank of America Stadium, and a busy weekend for a pair of Panthers' offensive starters who are staging charitable events.

Tight end Greg Olsen is putting on his first annual Heart-est Yard Golf Classic on Friday at the Club at Longview.

Proceeds from the event will benefit research for hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Olsen's twin son, TJ, was born with HLHS last fall.

For more information on the event, visit www.receptionsforresearch.org/events.html.

The following day, Panthers left tackle Jordan Gross will hold his sixth annual kickball tournament benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at 3 p.m. Saturday at Providence High School.

Gross, whose niece was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 2005, has raised more than $350,000 through the kickball tournament's first five years.

Awesome story! These two guys are great, I love that they have taken a personal connection to a cause and tried to help.

Two of the real winners on this team.
