Cam Newton happy for Florida teammate Tim Tebow landing in New England

Cam Newton flashed a grin when he heard Tim Tebow's name in a reporter's question.

Maybe he knew it was coming. Or maybe he was happy to share his thoughts on his former college teammate.

But Newton expressed nothing but excitement and well wishes for Tebow, the quarterback who earlier this week was acquired by the New England Patriots.

"I’m excited and I wish Tim Tebow the best, and hopefully it works for him and the Patriots, and we’ll see where it goes from there," Newton said.

Newton played behind Tebow at Florida in 2007 and 2008 before transferring to Blinn College.

The two, both Heisman Trophy winners, met for the first time in the NFL last year in a preseason game at MetLife Stadium when Carolina beat the Jets 17-12. Newton went 6-for-15 for 60 yards and a touchdown while Tebow went 4-for-14 for 55 yards and one interception.

They will meet again in Week 11 when the Patriots travel to Charlotte for a Monday Night Football game.

That is, of course, if Tebow is still on New England's roster.

Why would a reporter ask Cam Newton about Tim Tebow? And why does that reporter still have a job today?

3 (6 g) packages Cam Kool-Aid, your favorite flavor
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 gallon cold water

In a LARGE juice pitcher (1 gallon/4 litres), stir together 3 packages of the Cam koolaid and sugar.
Add about 1/3 of the water and stir well, making sure Cam Kool-Aid and sugar dissolves.
Slowly stir in remaining water; chill.
Take some BIG GULPS !!!

Did newton return Tebow's laptop as a congratulatory offering?

Posted by: joetarheel | Jun 12, 2013 5:36:30 PM

LOL, laptop... funny how that happened like five years ago and people are still talking about it. Guess people forgot that he went to Blinn College, won a national championship. Then went to Auburn and won a national championship, along with a number of records. Then came into the NFL and broke records starting from day one. When you have a resume like that, no one cares about a laptop. Find something else about Cam to dis on him with... oh wait, there isn't.

Kerry Collins = 7 playoff games. Trent Dilfer = 5 playoff games. Shaun King = 3 playoff games. Rex Grossman = 4 playoff games. Joe Webb = 2 playoff games. Man what a great argument

Current Starter: Cam Newton
Roster Reject: Tim Tebow
