Panthers sign WR Dale Moss, waive/injure R.J. Webb
The Panthers waive/injured wide receiver R.J. Webb and signed WR Dale Moss in his place, according to the league's official transaction page.
Moss, a 6-foot-3, 213-pound receiver, went undrafted out of South Dakota State in 2012. He bounced around practice squads last year with Green Bay, Tampa Bay and Chicago before getting released by the Bears this month.
Moss played basketball at South Dakota State as well as football. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.51 and had a 41 1/2-inch vertical at his pro day in 2012. He'll likely compete this summer in Spartanburg for a spot on Carolina's practice squad.
Last Tuesday during minicamp, Webb planted awkwardly and told the Observer he likely tore an ACL and chipped a bone in his right knee.
Webb was signed by the team following the rookie tryout camp. A Furman graduate, Webb caught 85 balls for 1,082 yards for the Paladins.
Update: Moss is not from the planet Krypton, thus he does not have a 41 1/2 foot vertical as previously mentioned. I regret the error.

A 41 1/2 foot vertical? He really must leap tall buildings in a single bounce!

I still cannot believe the NFL will not allow seat cushions at the game. Time to replace the seats or provide every seat with a cushion for the game. With that said...
More competition for Armanti "The Mascot?" Yeah, well they play different positions, as one is a Split End, while Armanti is attempting (for the 4th year, BWAHAHAHAHA) to become a Flanker or Slot Receiver. Perhaps he gets one more gift year from Jerry Richardson, as he does draw in the redneck and hillbilly crowds from lil' Appy State from somewhere in the Boonies. You get all the second-tier Mountaineer fans (as the TRUE Mountaineer team resides in Morgantown, West Virginia) buying little Mascot shirts, cheering on their folk hero, Armanti.
I guess it makes for great PR and storylines...if not give the rest of us something to laugh about. Fact is, there are only so many WR positions to go around on the Panthers, and if Moss has Spiderman hands, then his ability to rise up above others will be needed much more than some local mascot.

that 41 1/2 foot vertical would be crucial at the goal line. Do you know if Rivera has plans to use him in these situations?

What was he "planting" when he hurt himself. Tomatoes ? Flowers ? Weed ?

If these Observer guys would spend less time on the radio.....41 1/2 vertical...

I figured it out... everyone at the Charlotte Observer is on PCP. It's the only explanation.

At least give Jonathan Jones credit for updating his blog and noting the error separately with a joke about it.
Joe Person would have just corrected within, acted like he never messed up, and then given everyone that made fun of him the lifetime block from commenting.

With Armanti Edwards as our new #1 based on recent Observer articles and Steve Smith as #2 it seems we are set at WR.

Armanti Edwards will start the season as # 4 receiver and play a part in one or both return units. By mid-season, he will be # 3 receiver coming out of the slot. He will book multiple 50 yard or better runs and receptions as the season progresses.
"Nomoreseatcushions" will have a sore butt.

In the words of QCB......"NEVER HEARD OF EM!"

A 41 1/2 Vertical is only good for a WR if he can get some separation from the Defensive Back and if he can hang onto the ball. Let us hope the Panthers have uncovered a gem.
Boy, what feisty Armanti Edwards fans. Amazing since no one in the NFL even knows who this Cat is, as he was I guess somehow relevant 5 or 6 years ago in Division III? He was a short QB and he's trying to become a WR? Why a team would waste this many years on someone who hasn't produced anything just shows how inept the Panthers Front Office has been.
Guaranteed this hype is so overblown, as it is every season. There's not enough WR positions available on the team for a player who can't play. This little boy should have gone onto the Arena League, because he's no NFL WR.
You have 1) Steve Smith, 2) Brandon LaFell, 3) Ted Ginn, Jr, 4) Domenik Hixon, 5) Joey Adams, 6) Keahola Pilares, 7) either David Gettis or Dale Moss. How dumb can these inbred rednecks from North Cackolacky be, somehow believing that Armanti Edwards would ever be a productive NFL Wide Receiver? What a bunch of double-digit southern dildos! Give it up, hillbillies, as your little boy will never, ever make an impact.
Catch Armanti this fall at your local Harris Teeter, as he'll be asking you whether you want paper or plastic. Hopefully, Armanti can pass the IQ test to qualify for work at Harris Teeter, for lord knows you Armanti supporters sure couldn't. Jerry Richardson, it's your money...but don't ask taxpayers to help you with millions of dollars when you toss it away on things like Armanti Edwards.

Hey Hugo Panther,
I live here in Charlotte. Your Mother says "Hi." So does your sister. They told me about your erectile dysfunction and your other "shortcomings;" After I got done laughing my azz off, I actually felt bad for you. Then I realized that you can be Armanti Edwards' receiver.
You two have a lovely time together. By the way, your parents have a nice house!
