Mitchell, Silatolu inactive for Panthers vs. Seattle

As expected, starting strong safety Mike Mitchell and starting left guard Amini Silatolu are inactive for the Panthers' season opener against Seattle.

Mitchell has been battling a calf injury and Silatolu has a hamstring injury. Quintin Mikell, acquired by the Panthers on Labor Day, will get the start at strong safety while Travelle Wharton and Chris Scott will rotate at left guard.

Rivera said earlier in the week that Carolina would play "guard by committee" with Silatolu out.

Domenik Hixon is also inactive for Carolina. The wide receiver has dealt with a hamstring injury throughout the entire preseason and played in just one exhibition. Carolina has four wide receivers active for Sunday.

RB Kenjon Barner, OL Brian Folkerts, CB James Dockery and DE Wes Horton are the other inactives for Carolina. DT Dwan Edwards and FB Mike Tolbert are active for Carolina.

Highlighting the Seahawks' inactive players are DE Cliff Avril and CB Brandon Browner.

Wow Greg Olsen drop two big catches. We could be up by two scores. Keep pounding defense.
