Steve Smith has choice words for Rams CB Janoris Jenkins
Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith had some choice words for St. Louis cornerback Janoris Jenkins following Carolina's 30-15 win.
Smith caught a 19-yard touchdown pass from Cam Newton with 19 seconds left in the third quarter. Jenkins, a second-year player, was one of the Rams that Smith made miss on his way to the end zone.
Smith got into the end zone, pointed to Jenkins, started doing former NFL cornerback Deion Sanders' celebration dance and then signaled to stop. He then proceeded to do his own celebration dance.
Below is the transcript from Smith's post-game interview:
Take us through the touchdown, looks like you made some guys missed. "I’ll let Janoris Jenkins go over it on film on Monday."
Did you point to him? "Yes, I directly pointed to him."
Did you think you’d get a taunting penalty? "Don’t give a damn."
What was the dance you did? "Well he thinks he’s Deion (Sanders). He’s not."
To get your 800th catch against him… "He’s just another notch on the bedpost. That’s 800. He ain’t no different."
For your 800th to be a touchdown, what’s that mean to you? "Just another dude."
Did you have any run-ins with him before? "No. What I don’t like is a young guy, comes in, obviously his first time ever using the internet and Google, and he Googles information about me, talks about my wife and stuff like that. That’s kind of some of the (B.S). I just don’t play with."
What specifically was he saying? "That’s all I’m going to say. I don’t play them games. When you try to take it personal like that, I don’t have any great humbling things to say. So he can take his (butt) back to St. Louis and watch the (expletive) film because I don’t play them games. And if I see him in the streets I’m going to bust him in his (expletive) mouth.
On your touchdown celebration, was that a little bit extra? "When you embarrass people you rub it in their face. When your dog (urinates) on the carpet, you rub it in his face."--Jonathan Jones

Way to go Smitty, you are the man! When he gets fired up, others better look out, hahaha.

Metal note to Coach Rivera, start getting the other team to talk smack about the Panthers. Not fun barb smack but street slang throwing smack. It seems to work

I love enthusiasm. However, Smith can be a little too cocky.

If NFL veterans were the voters for the HOF Smitty would be a no brainer. Smith is twice the player of Reggie Wayne and Wayne sadly has a lot more of a chance to make it since he has 1,000 receptions.
Wayne caught 95% of his passes from Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck.
Smitty had to deal with Chris Weinke, Jake Delhomme, Cam Newton (young), Randy Fasani, Vinny Testaverdi, Jimmy Clausen, Matt Moore, Rodney Peete, Brian St. Pierre, Tony Pike, and Josh McCown.
Smittty is the sole reason we beat the Rams and Bears in those playoff games. What playoff games did Reggie Wayne ever win by himself?

Mann!! You can't mess with dem Utes!!

Shula's offense will cost us many games. He is not a true offensive coordinator like Rob was. Rob could create plays down field to get guys open. Shula is the weakest link. Don't care what anyone says.

Glad to see that not everyone here is sniffing lil' shorty's (89) jock.
He's a punk. Glad he's on a team that consistantly sucks so he'll never be considered a great one with rings to show for it.
Larry Fitzgerald plays for a perennial loser and he's got twice the respect as SuperScam's little lapdog #89.

jason you mention jake delhomme in that crowd like delhomme isn't the franchise leader, multiple pro bowls, took the team to the super bowl and 3 playoff runs in like 7 seasons.
don't bunch him in with everyone else. that said, delhomme missed most of 2 of smith's years with him and the rest of the list is part of the argument I always make for him......along with the 2004 season where he missed the year after getting injured in the first game.
the guy should be a hall of famer. he's climbing up the all time list. a few big games this year would go a long way.....been slow thus far. the drops haven't helped either. but that won't continue.

Talking about taking it to Smith is all talk. Frisbee Pitbull would not go down easy. Anyone posting here is all ready going to lose that fight. That includes me and I'm a black belt. He's a a bad ass dude for real.

He answered a media question and called the D "my team". No Keuchly? Star? Davis? No, apparantley Capt says its Capt. The guy catches one wounded quail and now its his team.

Smitty is all heart. 5' 9" of cocky, rough, football smart, in-your-face swag. He will be our first Hall of Famer and someone who proves that to make it you have give 110%, 110% of the time. If the rest of the team played with HALF of his intensity, we would have won a lot more. There is a difference between intensity and thuggery. Smith is tough with a capital C! Go, Panthers! This is the kind of game that changes the trajectory of a season. Lead us to the Promised Land, #89! This city needs a winner.

Got all riled up! Make that "TOUGH WITH A CAPITAL T!" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Jesus Charlottean. The Panthers won DESPITE Delhomme. He DID NOT lead the team ANYWHERE. All he was asked to do (all he could do because he had no athletic ability) was be a game manager. Half the time he didn't even do that right.
The reason why he holds all QB records is because Fox gave him chance, after chance, after chance. It irritates me when people think that Delhomme had ANYTHING to do with the success this team had.

all I can say is that if this team did not take a chance on thr 5'9 return guy from Utah in 2003 I feel like we would be walking down the same road as the Jaguars right now. LOVE ME SOME AGENT 89!!!!

LOL at some of the SORE LOSER STL fanbase on here running their mouths on here. STL your team got beat, deal with it - they ran their mouths and got smacked down because they suck. Maybe you should worry about your crap team first before coming over and talking smack. Smitty took care of STL this weekend, and we will deal with ATL in a few weeks when Matty Choke comes to town, for those ATL trolls who are on here posting up. And if your team tries to punk it up, I am sure we will have something special for you as well.
Enjoy your loss, STL losers. Your second rd scumbag child-support owing CB got burned by a 34 yr old WR who is 5'8" - maybe he needs to spend more time watching film.....or doesn't belong on the field at all.
or if you are STL - KEEP QUIET
