Panthers claim King, cut Moore
Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman continues to churn the bottom of the 53-man roster, claiming rookie wideout Tavarres King off waivers from the Broncos, the team announced Monday.
To make room for King, the Panthers terminated the contract of cornerback D.J. Moore, who has been sidelined for more than a month with a sprained knee.
Moore, a native of Spartanburg, signed a one-year deal worth $715,000 with the Panthers during the offseason after spending his first four seasons with the Bears.
King, a fifth-round pick from Georgia, had five catches for 64 yards for the Broncos during the preseason, but had not played during the regular season.
King, 6-feet and 191 pounds, played in a school-record 56 games at Georgia, finishing third on the school's career list in receiving touchdowns (21) and fourth in receiving yards (2,602).

Sounds like my fantasy team - churning through the bottom of the roster hoping to hit upon some uncovered gem!

So we signed a WR, but cut a DB? That would not be because Gettleman will not admit his own mistake, Dominic Hixon, would it?

Glad we got King - I thought he should have gotten a look from us last yr when he was on the board.

@Ghoul..... Ohhh, that's a nice point!
I think the bigger issue is WR weakness in general, a fact I've been harping on for 3 years now!
That and the fact that our D is (as I predicted) not only a top 5 defense but right now the LEAGUES NUMBER 1 DEFENSE!! WOW, awesome job Panthers! First time ever we've had such a prolific O or D to pull for, if we can even get a little consistency in point production from the offense we can make a legit playoff run!

jon beason leads the giants in tackles (again) on monday night football for their first win of the season. that horrible defense held peterson to 28 yards on 13 attempts.
and we GAVE him away.
richardson might want to consider a collusion investigation regarding gettleman's relationship with the giants. this is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad. that dude is healthy. that dude looks GOOD out there these last 2 weeks.

Dude. please. let it go. What is it with you and wanting to hold on to players?
Given Beason's injury history, given this team has a younger, healthy MLB, given Beason's cap figure, and you STILL will not let go! Great for Beason that he found a team IN NEED of a MLB. This team HAD NO NEED for him.

Thank you D.W.G, been saying charlottean isn't all there, glad someone else noticed it. You put it just right about what happened with Beason but charlotte's web won't let it go,he likes to kick dead horses.

we got nothing for the guy. NOTHING. he's an all-pro linebacker and we GAVE him away. I'm not mad we moved him, i'm mad we got NO value for him and acted as though he was damaged goods. had he been damaged goods, a 4th or 5th rounder would have been appropriate.
the way he's playing? nothing short of a late 2nd, early 3rd. that dude is BALLING OUT right now.
the grass is always greener with you guys. and yall are some great investors i'm sure. buy high sell low's the motto right guys?
