Thomas Davis named NFC Defensive Player of the Week
Thomas Davis capped off one of his best games of his career with an honor of the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Panthers ninth-year linebacker tallied nine tackles against the Vikings and sacked quarterback Matt Cassel twice to post a career-high in the category in Carolina’s convincing 35-10 victory last Sunday. It was his first multi-sack game since 2006.
Davis, who returned last year from his third ACL reconstructive surgery, has shined this year at weakside linebacker. Davis is second on the team with 38 tackles and leads the team in sacks with three.
He’s the second Panther to be named NFC DPOW, with defensive end Greg Hardy getting the honor after Week 3 against the Giants.

I am so afraid he'll blow something out, but if he wants to play hard, more power to him. I fear it won't end well.

and people still want to cut stewart even though it won't save us any money?
this is proof that defense wins football games. and rivera finds ways to lose them.

I personally think this is the best story of the year so far for our Panthers. Way to go Thomas. Out of all the players on the team I believe he knows what a gift it is to be able to play. Enjoy it man!

Glad to see it...........but shouldn't the article read TIED for sacks with 3? Hardy and Johnson also have 3 each according to the Panters stat sheet.

that late round draft pick for jon beason sure looks worth it, right?
can we go ahead and trade charles godfrey for a 7th rounder while we're at it?

there you go again charlottean, making moron statements, why don't you go post you comments somewhere else,or better yet go retire your WATERBOY jersey again, this article is about Thomas Davis who is a real man, unlike you. TD you are the heart of this team and will always be,you should have gotten the comeback player of the year, nay, comeback player of the century. The nfl should be ashamed of themselves for not putting you on that list.Continued success for you and the panther's #3D

Why can't we play this well every week? we have so much talent out there, lets utilize it. Gooooood job TD. Lets do this the rest of the season. Way to go PANTHERS, lets show them who the big cat is. I believe we can win the rest of this season.
