Barner, Alexander inactive for Panthers vs. Patriots

Running back Kenjon Barner and defensive end Frank Alexander highlight the healthy inactives for the Panthers' Monday night game against the Patriots, though neither one will come as a surprise.

Barner has one rush and two catches this season for Carolina, and as running back Jonathan Stewart continues to get healthy after being on the physically unable to perform list, Barner's snaps will get squeezed out.

With the Panthers feeling good about their defensive line rotation, Alexander will be inactive for his third game this season.

Tight end Ben Hartsock, LB Chase Blackburn and RG Chris Scott were already listed as out. Rookie linebacker A.J. Klein will get the start at weakside linebacker while Nate Chandler will get his second straight start at right guard.

Also inactive for Carolina are wide receivers Tavarres King and Marvin McNutt.

thomas davis with 17 tackles on MNF?! holy dan morgan that's a whale of a game.

steve smith just over 100 yards receiving away from entering the top 20 all time.

more importantly....cam......at 24......is looking like the man. he's still missing relatively easy throws, but he's making up for it with things nobody else in the league can do. 7-3. we can split them from here and we're still in the playoffs. 4-2 miiiight just land us the division and a bye. it's between us and the saints for the 2nd bye.

this is exactly what "cap hell" feels like. 7-3 with 20 million in cap room.
