Blackburn active, expected to start

SAN FRANCISCO -- Panthers outside linebacker Chase Blackburn is active and is expected to start Sunday against the 49ers.

Blackburn, who has been battling a foot injury, was listed as questionable and was a game-day decision.

Blackburn is part of a Panthers' front seven that will try to slow the Niners' top-ranked rushing attack.

The Panthers' inactive list had no surprises: injured right guard Chris Scott (knee), injured cornerback James Dockery (shoulder), corner Josh Norman, tight end Brandon Williams, defensive end Wes Horton and young receivers Marvin McNutt and Tavarres King.

Nate Chandler, who as a defensive tackle last season, will make his first career start at guard in place of Scott. Veteran Geoff Hangartner, re-signed last week for his third stint with the Panthers, is expected to rotate with Chandler.

wow. dwan edwards was HUGE today.

STATEMENT win today. Rivera didn't even have to make any big decisions.

sorry that last sack was hardy, i believe. announcer said edwards, but hardy was credited in the box score.

either way, huge win. should have won by more if we hadn't dropped/overthrown so many passes, but who gives an eff.

New orleans loses to dallas tonight and we're tied for the division lead.

steve smith now 2 career receiving yards short of #22 all-time (Michael Irvin)

PLEASE re-sign Mike Mitchell! He is becoming my favorite Panther. The mocking of Kaepernick's TD celebration after he sacked him on a blitz was hilarious! This dude has a Kris Jenkins like type attitude. Love it.

he has been key. if godfrey comes back healthy........imagine the 2 of them playing together. wow.

klein looked VERY good in his first start too. 2 huge plays from him.

and outside of the 1 sack late, chandler didn't look too bad either. which is impressive given how good san frans front line is.
