Montana pastor jokingly gives 1-minute sermon before Panthers-49ers game

Colin Kaepernick wasn’t the only person kissing his biceps and opening his shirt on Sunday.

Pastor Tim Christensen of Gold Hill Lutheran Church in Butte, Mont., delivered a 1-minute sermon Sunday at 11 a.m. (Mountain Time) just before the Panthers-49ers kickoff.

He did an abridged sermon, telling the congregation they could get the communion bread and wine after he left before doing Kaepernick’s touchdown pose and ripping open his white robe to reveal a 49ers shirt underneath.

He then walks off the stage and the video ends.

Except, that wasn’t the end.

I reached out to the church this afternoon and was told that though Christensen is from San Francisco and is a big 49ers fan, what is seen in the video was “just a primer.”

Christensen not only delivered a sermon but did the full service shortly after the video, which has since gone viral, ended.
