Panthers assistant receivers coach Taylor takes Stanford RBs job
Panthers assistant receivers coach Lance Taylor will be the next running backs coach at Stanford.
Taylor was with the Panthers and receivers coach Ricky Proehl for one season before going to Stanford for his highest coaching position of his young career.
Taylor was a graduate assistant at Alabama, his alma mater, from 2007-2008 and coached receivers at Appalachian State in 2009 before going to the New York Jets.
Taylor, 32, also drew interest from Boise State for its wide receiver coaching vacancy last month.
Taylor was Alabama's special teams captain in 2003 when Panthers offensive coordinator Mike Shula was the Crimson Tide's head coach.
The Panthers combined the positions of offensive quality control coach and assistant receivers coach last year after Proehl was promoted to receivers coach.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera fired three assistants last offseason -- receivers coach Fred Graves, running backs coach John Settle and linebackers coach Warren Belin. But Rivera, the Associated Press' Coach of the Year, predicted little movement among his staff members after the Panthers' 12-4 finish in 2013.

Good. I don't see a need for any moves either, Coach.
